Hi, your Application same mine, now I'm waiting to do medical check for 3.5month already, don't know when they need my medical check...to slow

Singapore is known to be really slow. I did medical upfront (passed), sent Schedule A and PCC since March as they requested. My status shows checking eligibility in progess for so long. Hope to hear good news soon. Good luck buddy!

Hi everyone, I just wanted to share our timeline on the off chance it may be helpful to others. We are processing an outland application for family sponsorship with Portuguese residence. Applications are received by CIC in Mississauga, and then sent for processing to the visa office which has jurisdiction over Portugal, in our case, Paris, France.

I originally prepared the spousal sponsorship under the old regime, and obtained medical and police certificate. We were just waiting for our marriage certificate to arrive in the mail, which arrived on the day all the forms changed. I understand that you were able to use the old forms until the end of January, but we choose to update, and submit medical results and police certificate under the new regime. Our timeline thus far is as follows:

1. January 12, 2017 - Mailed our PR application to CIC Mississauga;
2. January 13, 2017 - Received by CIC Mississauga;
   
3. February 23, 2017 - CIC confirms that the application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC)
   
4. February 23, 2017 - Correspondence received from CIC, "To continue processing your application, you must link your application to an online account"
   
5. March 1, 2017 - Correspondence received from CIC, "We are pleased to inform that you have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor."
   
6. March 2, 2017 - Correspondence received from CIC, "You must complete the Schedule A Background/Declaration (IMM 5669) form which is found at the following link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/eIMM5669E.pdf
7. March 7, 2017 - After numerous attempts, and multiple web inquiry forms, we successfully linked our application.
   
8. April 6, 2017 - Correspondence received from CIC, "This message is being sent to confirm that the Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s)has been forwarded to the visa office in Paris for further processing.
9. May 2, 2017 - We received a request letter from the Embassy in Paris as follows: Itinerary, Travel: Detailed travel itinerary (FORM IMM5562) This must be received at this office by: 2017/08/07
10. May 8, 2017 - Submitted the requested form to the Embassy for review.

We have heard nothing since May 8th. I will continue to update as the process proceeds.

Yes, I received a letter from CIC confirming eligibility, and that the application would be held until his background form was submitted, which was submitted just days later. We then received a letter indicating that his application was being forwarded to Paris.

I have logged on to the site using this following path, Home/My Application/Client Application Status, and below is an extract from the site.

Permanent Residence

1. We received your application for permanent residence on January 13, 2017.
2. We started processing your application on April 14, 2017.
3. We sent you correspondence on May 2, 2017. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.

If I login using his credentials, I see this under status.

Application status We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.

Review of eligibility - We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
Review of medical results - You passed the medical exam.
Review of additional documents - The additional documents you provided are being reviewed.
Interview - You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
Biometrics - We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes.
Background check - We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
Final decision - Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

Hello All, I just found this forum and hope there is someone who can help me with my situation.

I am an American, my husband is Canadian and we married 3 years ago. I lived in Canada from August 2014 thru April 2017, and was under the impression I had "implied status". We had always planned on doing an inland application but the money prevented us and we kept putting it off. This April I was researching implied status and realized I made a huge mistake staying there that long without leaving/returning every 6 months.

I was never issued a leave order or anything like that, I left on my own accord. I am now living in the US, have a job here (I never worked in Canada) and plan on doing Outland immigration soon.

I have a flight booked (and a return flight booked) to return to Canada to visit my husband and complete our application package in July, what are my chances of being refused entry based on my overstay? I am worried sick about this. I'm so afraid I will be denied entry!
Can anybody offer their experience if you've had a similar situation? It would be much appreciated Thanks in advance

Hi,
I'm in exact same situation as you. I did get some legal advice before leaving Canada. I was told that I should not have any problem re-entering the country but it all depends on the border agent! So nothing is guaranteed.
Only difference is I made my application before leaving Canada, so i am going to wait till I get my PR approved. Please let me know how you get on with entry back in Canada.

Can someone please help me understand how the background checks update on mycic is.


I am so confused about the different status update on mycic for the background check. While reading on the forums it seems like for some people although the background check update says “Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check” they started it. But according ot some peoples experience they then get in progress and NA within few days.


Our file has been transferred to the VO and On my cic account it says the following since May;


Application status: we are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.


Review of eligibility: We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.


Background check Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check




Can someone please help me understand what this means?

You should receive an email confirming that they received the forms. I received mine around 15 days after uploading to webform. Do you manage to link your application on mycic? What does it say?

You might want to call IRCC to check.
