The system seems to be slow in updating statuses.

My status was Waiting for Submission for 2 days even after I uploaded all documents and paid the fees.

Later it remained at Decision in Progress even after Ontario requested additional documents from me. Some people who received the nomination were alerted through an email by IRCC while their e-filing status remained Decision in Progress instead of Approved for a day or two.

I'm sure your status will change soon. Good luck.
Thanks so much for your prompt response, much appreciated!

You seem to be quite senior here, I'm really a newbie with this entire process. Would you be able to tell me how long does it take on average, to receive the ITA once the application is submitted? I've heard it takes from 1 to 3 months. Is that true?

After you submit your OINP application and it gets approved, you receive a nomination from Ontario.

As soon as you accept the nomination, 600 points are added to your score and you get an ITA in the next draw.

Hi Everyone,

I receive Notice of Interest on my IRCC on 29th June, and without reading anything regarding OINP, I registered on e-portal and i received a file number. I was reading the documentation today and it says i have 6 months before i could register and now I have 14 days to submit an application, but i have no documents ready as i need to get them from India while I'm here in Canada. Is it possible to withdraw the application and reply again when i have all documents ready.

I'm really stressed, can someone please help me with this situation.

this is really frustrating situation!!

so far you cannot the decline the application any more but you have reapply again for NOI.
However, you can call OINP for more real information.
sorry no idea more than that!

I am still collecting my docs to apply for since I received NOI last week!!

You can withdraw and submit application again. Just keep in mind the timelines, Efile registration can only valid for 14 days and NOI remain vaid for 6 months

Your NOI is valid for 6 months. Get your documents ready. Once your current application expires (or if you withdraw it before that happens), as long as the quota has not been reached the portal will let you create a new one. On my case I got the NOI in Feb 27th, and I submitted in May 26th after having created multiple applications.

Guys... As per my understanding.. Plz correct me if I am wrong..
Below two in RED are different/independent statements from http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNPNEW.html
In the week of Jun 26, their focus is more on ITC, but it doesn't say specifically that its only for that week (if we read below text carefully)...
Per my understanding, they will be issuing NOIs to the other sectors too going forward, along with ICT with CRS < 400.
It all boils down to "occupation-specific searches" in coming weeks..

The OINP continues to improve the program’s responsiveness to labour market and economic development needs and identify more candidates with experience in some of Ontario’s priority sectors and in demand occupations. As part of that vision, the program will begin issuing targeted Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to candidates who qualify for Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities (HCP) Stream and who have work experience in specific occupations identified by the OINP.

For these occupation-specific searches only, the OINP will be lowering the required minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score below 400. To qualify, candidates will need to meet all other HCP stream eligibility criteria (see below) and have skilled work experience in one of the targeted occupations.

All applicants to the HCP Stream must meet the following criteria:

  • Work Experience: A minimum of either:
  • Education: Equivalent of a Canadian Bachelor’s degree or above;
  • Language: A minimum of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 in English or in French;
  • Settlement Funds: A minimum level of savings or income in Ontario; and
  • Intent: An intention to reside in Ontario long term.
For the week of June 26, 2017, the OINP will be targeting candidates with work experience in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector.
