My estimation is above 438 if draw happens after 2 weeks ; if it happens next week then would be lower than 430.

I think of retaking IELTS exam too... if i would have scored 7 at writing, i would have been at 453 CRS
So good luck...the nearest date on my country is August 19th ;)
So basically we both are in very similar situation, aren't we? That available date seems too far. Where are you from if you don't mind me asking? I think i will wait until next draw and if the drop in cut-off score is below 15 points, i'm booking the date for IELTS and hopefully this will my last IELTS test for life lol

Brother, u may be right but I am having opposite view in this subject, Just felt to share with you.

1. Accepting NOI does not guarantee nomination. And the documentation is too lengthy compared to Federal system.
2. If someone gets ITA based on OINP, he/she has to stay in Ontario for 2 years. This is very crucial, as we all are planning to move their for our future and these 2 years are very important for Canadian experience. So limiting the region to work, will have very negative impact in years to come.
3. Waiting for few more draw is quite worthy, compared to staying in the limitations for 2 years.

I personally feel, the above mentioned points are very crucial and OINP NOI should not be accepted, till next 2-3 draws.
For me, applying for OINP is a back-up option. Lets evaluate the scenarios:

Scenario 1: You apply for OINP in next 10 days: worst case you will get nomination in 3 months from now, by that time, if you have already got an ITA, you reject the nomination and go ahead direct ITA route. You will loose 1500CAD + effort to complete additional documentation.

Scenario 2: You don't apply for OINP and wait for July draws: best case is that you get direct ITA in July and you move on happily. Worst case, you don't get ITA and now start thinking about OINP... by that time, the chances to get OINP nomination will reduce further as they have a limited quota to fill for the year. End result could be a lot of stress and disappointment.

In my view, its worth the risk (or rather a back-up) in case I don't receive direct ITA.

I am from Albania. I tried to find the balance between a possible OINP nomination and retaking IELTS...now that I made up my mind, the 29-th of July was booked :) yes, our situations are very similar...i find it very ironical that for 0.5 band score, one should lose so much

I would go for it. You will have almost 2 months to work hard and murder the test. Don't wait for scores to drop, its really in your own hands.

All the best

Yap, IELTS is make or brake right now. Half a band is worth so much. Your ticket to Canada.

The delay is actually a blessing in disguise coz rushing into another test doesn't always give better results.
And while you wait for the test start working on the other document. After ITA 90 days goes buy in a flash.

As far as my knowledge goes, once you apply for OINP, profile becomes ineligible for ITA. I think you have to make a firm decision and stick with it.

I don't think this is right... i have heard cases of people declining their ITA's to accept OINP nominations, which means that their profile is visible for direct ITA..

I am seriously considering to appear on IELTS exam again, although i do not want to at all. But considering my score, i either have to accept NOI or give IELTS again. If i keep waiting for the score to drop to my level, i doubt it will be before October. And i cannot wait until October or else OINP's HCP will be closed and i have already been in disadvantage because of quota being filled. If i happen to score CLB 9, my score will shoot to 454 and i will save a hefty amount by avoiding OINP route. But more than that, collecting humongous amount of work documents from past workplace seems pretty daunting. I might not be able to gather all required documents at all. I feel it would be sensible to wait for at least one draw and then book for IELTS. I feel like waiting is no longer an option, by either taking IELTS or OINP (if unsuccessful with IELTS again) i could be saving a lot of time and stress. Upcoming available IELTS dates are:

July 8, July 29, Aug 3, Aug 19, Sep 9, Oct 14 and Oct 28.
I am thinking about July 29th. What do you think guys?

PS: Before any new member ask me, my CRS is 403. Not being rude at all, just saving time lol
go for 29th of July...
You'll get some time to brush through the listening and reading...writing ,you are well in practice :p....speaking also I don't have a doubt...
& in the mean time you'll get to see couple of draws more...
all the best buddy...
CLB10 ....8.5 L / 8 R / 7.5 S,W that's the least you deserve...even if the Irish chat buddy occupies ur mind while practicing ..;)

Profile becomes ineligible once you accept OINP, that is what I heard. I might be wrong.
I don't know, ... you may have heard that once an applicant accepts OINP nomination, his profile becomes invisible for other provinces to nominate him...but I dont think this is the case with provincial applications...
