no idea where did you got info that dropped by 30-40% .. prices in Toronto and GTA way to high for new buyers..
Vancover and Toronto/GTA are highest in Canada..

Average price in the GTA rose to $916,567 — up from $688,011 in March 2016

Hey, since you do know a lot about housing / living expenses in Canada, any idea how these fare out in Prince Edward Island - in comparison or contrast?

Next draw could very well be after Canada day. Also expecting the cut off to be more than 460 or 470. I know its depressing , but it could very well be the case.
Ludicrous!!! How do you even come up with such numbers. Dear lord. Have you been following CRS cut-off trend lately whatsoever? For that kind of score ITA won't be exceeding 700-800. Current trend is 3600-3800. Then again, this thread is no place for pessimists. I know its depressing, but it could very well be the case.

I completely agree with you lino. Far too greater risk for misrepresentation. Just because you can create profile by inserting only months for work experience in EE will be held against by a case officer when he/she looks at the documents and its over 20 days short. Problem is with his IELTS, he can't get any higher, he got 24 already. Now whoever may have got PR in similar situation may had the privilege of considerate case officer. Hence may be writing a LoE while submitting work relevant documents will be a good idea i guess.
I think it is rather than a considerate officer, probably the guy had higher points on account of any of the other 5 factors....or he got 'spirited' officer checking his file on Monday morning:p...
because it amounts to lying if one says he has 2 years of experience, while the question specifically asks years of experience,in the FSW questionnaire, whereas he has couple of weeks less than two years....
CIC section on disqualification 11.2 exempt only the points reduced on account of birthday after ITA & before eAPR...if they are so particular to note that few days on age, after securing ITA can be allowed,it implies on other counts such relaxation cannot be considered...
--
that is how it appears to me.....
and the guy who came back asking 'misinformation source' seems confused which is clear from his remark that he got extra points even though he had only 1 yr 11 months...we all know 1 year and 2yrs 11 months carry same points for CRS (not sure about CEC..there I think max @1 yr itself)..
anyway happy hoping today...& by the way our number of pages is in the vicinity of the potential cut off...
have a nice day...:)

@KingKurly, I tried creating profile in POF by using a proxy website that emulates Canada as my location. I was successful, and found a lot of profiles (girls) in Prince Edward Island. However, later I tried logging in without proxy, and realised that my profile had been deactivated and deleted .

Wow! 400+ pages! The longest ROH thread so far. Today is our big day! I will try to keep myself busy for the rest of the day (I hope I can!) :D

PS: I snatched a spare F5 key from our office for the refresh party later :p

prices in PEI are certainly cheaper .. i dont have much information on type of houses .. but i would guess you will get much more open space around the house than in GTA..

and by the way, everyone will eventually find out this when u land here... but if you don't know yet..
http://www.kijiji.ca is one of the best site to search classifieds in Canada.. very useful if you are new to Canada and dont want to spend everything new.. Canadian residents love and use this site a lot..

you can search for rental houses also ..

Just talking about the practicality of the situation. I'm going for higher studies and my course starts 13th July, which is why I couldn't postpone my resignation.

Now, even though having a work experience of July to July with about 15 days short, if they're trying to accuse me of misrepresentation, doesn't that sound a stretch!? Like, I should complete dot 2 years to get in? So, I'm gonna be counted 1 year and all the extra 11m and 15d are going to be discounted why - because I'm 15 days short? It's work experience and not a day count that you do while working. That'll be weird on "humanitarian" grounds :'(

To say that I suffer from Claustrophobia would be sheer exaggeration, but I really like living in a rural set-up with plenty of space around the house. I also am very enthusiastic about tending my own backyard garden, etc. So, I am glad to hear about the open spaces!!

Hi
I don't think it is required. Usually they only ask for the highest degree acquired. If you have done masters then ECA for that is sufficient. Some people also get their bachelors done if their current work is different from their bachelors to expand their horizons later in future. But 12th and 10th are usually not necessary.
Thanks

Hi Experts, I haven't see any unique client identifier (UCI) in my express entry profile. I have completed express entry profile (a week ago) and job bank also.

Is there anything I need to do something? Please advise...

Haven't changed your mind over PEI?

Ouch.. POF? Is this another kind of "proof of fund" in preparation for the cold nights in Canada?:cool::p

I really love this thread. We can talk about anything under the sun. Last night I saw a lot talking about alcoholic drinks and now someone is talking about another kind of "booze".

But before anything else, a draw has to happen today! Pessimists, learn to respect your folks who have been waiting for a looong time! o_O

brother, we all would be happy if it works for you...we try to be objective & to the point though we are no legal experts here....if you've read my replies u'd understand why I think what I've written therein...
and like you brought to notice,it affects the eligibility....I don't know if CIC counts month to month for all date / period specific criteria ...but when they specifically instruct case officers to exempt people "whose birthday falling after ITA but before eAPR & subsequent few points dip, even if it pulls down their scores to below the qualified draw's cut off" from disqualification, doesn't it point to how stringent CIC may be looking at it...

and it is the case officers discretion to decide whether to allow/decline/or penalize you ...
so I suggest if no other way, like kingKurly suggested, write humble letter of explanation
& Also you may refer this to legalfalcon..
we want everyone on board....just trying to see the pitfalls before someone fall into it...it is better to be cautious, careful & prepared than to take things for granted...:)
All the best buddy....:)

Hello Guys,
I have a question, I am close to getting my US visa expired in Aug ( even in US till now I managed going to college managing on CPT) , I have applied for college in ontario and managed to get an admit, also applied for study permit. Now my question is I have 412 points with masters and related work experience in US. also received NOI from ontario. do you guys think its a wise decision of me going for the study permit route provided there are some potential delays in EE process which are not in our hands ? or give sometime may be till july end, accept the NOI, shed 1500 CAD get the PNP and apply for EE by staying in US ( i can stay may be until end of sept 30 day grace period/ or get an I20) expert advices please.

note that fee for the first term is 10150 CAD= 7500 USD at sheridan college ontario.
Why would you want to go on a study permit when you can spend just 1500$ extra against 10,150 and i guess you will have to pay for the health insurance on top as well. I understand your concern that you may have to leave the US at the end of August. But paying outrageous tuition fee just not to move back home for few months is not very sensible idea in my honest opinion. I know its easy said than done, i had hard time convincing myself moving back home after living long long time abroad. Anyways, if i were you, i would go with the OINP just in case you can't wait for direct ITA which can take up to 2 months if the trend continues. Good luck.
