Hi,

Does anyone here has an idea on proof of funds?

A mere confirmation from the bank on the closing balance is more than enough or they we need to show the bank statement? Or it depends on the ITA letter what all documents are to be submitted with respect to PoF.

Thanks in advance.

I have a friend who was mentioning about his friend who stays in a boat.. he docks it at any place he wants to move... the fee to dock is about $500 per month.. indeed this is a wonderful idea if you want to be mobile..
Suits me!!

Come on, CIC, bring it on! Everybody is already drunk! Only a draw can sober up these guys :D
I hope, Yukon can bear the brunt of us all :D.

As a Brit living in Africa I can attest to binge drinking being way way more than 4 pints.

4 pints is what I had at lunch before going back to work.

On my last bad evening I had around 24 440mls so that's around 18 pints.. that was not a good idea for a man my age
Sorry to butt in but i didn't say just 4. I said 4+ in one sitting. That could be any amount above 4. I could be wrong and i probably am. I am not trying to prove my knowledge here, because i never cared to find out in the first place. I had drunken times when i fell asleep in a night club's sofa and even streets. But i'll admit 18 pints is a lot, i cannot do that, ever. My friends always used to ask me to drink slow.

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
We all have the same worry! ;) It depends a lot where are you going to to live in Canada, which province! I can tell you from my perspective (accountat here, experienced, 10 years in the job, currently working as Chief Accountant). We are planning to settle in Calgary, Alberta, I have been researching about cost of living a lot, since I have 2 small kids and need them to enroll in kindergarten also ehich is huge amount in monthly budget. Also we like to eat out a lot, go have fun in the city a lot, which means spending money on coffee, cakes, small bites, baloons for kids and etc, also we like to travel a lot and stay in nice hotels. For nice living, when I say nice, I mean comfortable, we need (household of 4, where kindergarten fees are around 3000 CAD monthly) including rent for house with backyard and leasing for 2 cars, with utilities, gas and shopping also, 9000 CAD monthly. This is 2 salaries for around 4500 nett a month, which is likely to find, a bit less in the begging, then we will need to be careful about spending but after year or 2 we can go back to our life style. So if you don't have expense for kindergarten and go with a smaller house or condo, you can easiy live with only 1 salary of around 4000 CAD monthly. Hope this helps!
Wow.this really helps

That's the trick, slow and steady wins the drinking race!!

I'll come back to you for inputs later on once I'm through.....
what I've found out is that saving initially and getting hold of own house with acerage double up as saving & investment ....
I've found out that 45 minutes drive from major cities you get nice big beautuful houses with few acres for 350k- $600k.....
and the money that you may spend on rental goes towards EMI and ten years down the line, with the influx of all 300000 per year intake, these suburbs will go up in value...and you can sell of parts of ur land with or without houses to recover ur investment....& from day one,you can sublet a portion for meeting your utilities....$800 a month...
kids get a lot of place to play around and you can have a nice garden too...:)

here we take vodka with a green chilly split in half into the glass,a nice twist of lemon, ice cubes & top with water....
or with Sprite (spoils the vodka) ....or with light sweet orange juice....
but of them all,I like it with ice cubes topped with beautiful Cranberry juice...
fine wine is bottled poetry....
vodka,:rolleyes:fair enough...;):):D
You wrote that so exquisitely mate. Enjoyed reading that very much. So fully agree with fine wine being bottled poetry. One that perfectly fits that bill for me is a kiwi wine "Villa Maria". Can't find the damn thing here lol

Dont worry about any of that my friend. This is a place where anyone can adapt and live a peaceful life. After all its a land of immigrants. Some people are suoer rich but again there are people who dont have enough but still live a decent life. And if you're ready to work hard you'll be making shit loads of money. Ahahah.. I'll do my best to help you out :)
Awwww, that's so nice! This is why I love this forum! You are all awsome guys and true future Canadians who are polite and helpful! I am proud to be a part of this community! I think I have little tears in my eyes! ;)

Hi,

Does anyone here has an idea on proof of funds?

A mere confirmation from the bank on the closing balance is more than enough or they we need to show the bank statement? Or it depends on the ITA letter what all documents are to be submitted with respect to PoF.

Thanks in advance.
letter from the bank
Account holder name
Account number
Date of account opening
Last six months average balance maintained
Closing balance
--
the letter should be on letterhead, with address / e mail & phone numbers of the bank
& Should carry issuing officers contact details
Seal should be there as well...(and coloured seal is highly desirable as otherwise it will be mistaken for a copy)
also,it would be ideal to include any liability that you may have with that bank...
bank statement is supporting document only...
the letter from any one or multiple banks/ fin institution is what is described for pof
