***APRIL 2017***SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

We sent our application in May and got AOR a week ago.
In the checklist we picked the option number 3.
NO---1. Im living currently in Canada.....
NO---2. Im living Outside Canada......

YES---3. I am currently living in Canada, and I am applying under the Family Class (not under the Spouse or Common-Law Partner in Canada Class). I understand that I may be convoked to attend an interview at a visa office outside of Canada.

Now we are wondering if I could apply for an open work permit and submit it online, we read something about (AIP—first stage "approval in principle") but im not sure when is that, and if after picking the option 3 im consider an outland application and I won't be able to ask for a work permit.

Open work permit goes with the inland application. I may be wrong. Please call CIC and confirm.

I received an email June 7, stating that I'm eligible to sponsor, but my GCKey still says "We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements" under review of eligibility.

I uploaded documents June 19th and these documents have been received and uploaded as per GCKey, just wanted to know why my eligibility has not been updated. Please advise, thank you!

Because the eligibility thing on GCKey doesn't belong to the sponser. It referes to applicant's eligibility.

Hi my application was received 12 April. On the 25th I received my first contact from Mississauga and was told I'd missed a signature from IMM 5532. I resubmitted this form, which arrived at Mississauga the 1st June and I've heard nothing yet? Does anyone know how long it usually takes to receive an acknowledgment of receipt? Or does my application get put back to the pile? I though I would have received sponsor approval by now? Or at least an AO1?

I had uploaded PCC and Sch-A through GCKey and my status shows "The additional documents you provided have been uploaded". Did you check with your representative about the status of documents in GCKey..If yes, then what does it show?

i asked my representative but she said it doesn't show anything ..its weird i am not sure why its not showing anything .. my sponsor send them by courier yesterday.. my representative is not helping me .. i want to remove her

On average it is taking about a month.

We submitted our schedule a on 23 may and have no updates so far. I contacted our lawyer and she said theres no updates and just wait. ia m really worried now. Any suggestions

So, i'm a little concerned. I was hoping I could get some insight from anyone who is or was in the same situation as us.

This is our timeline so far..

App Sent: April 19
App Rec.: April 21
AOR Rec: May 24
Sch A & PCC Request: June 5
Sch A & PCC Sent: June 9 (uploaded on MyCIC - GCKey)
RPRF Request: June 9
RPRF Sent: June 12 (uploaded on MyCIC account - GCKey)
Submittied IMM5475 & IMM5476 (Use of Rep & Auth. to Release forms): June 15 via IRCC Webform & June 19 via mail

Now, I called CIC today to verify whether the requested documents (Schd A, PCC, RPRF) had been received, and this was confirmed, which is great news. YAY!

My concerns are, how long does it take to have the Use of a Rep. & Auth. to Release forms attached to our application? Also, i'm a bit more concerned that I still haven't received Sponsorship Approval. The agent I spoke to today said, "they are still reviewing eligibility" but how long does it take to receive Sponsorship Approval??? By, the looks of it most april applicants have already received sponsorship approval, hence, my concern.

Can anyone help with some insight? Is anyone on the same boat as us?

Interesting - I know some people never get SA from them or it comes really late, that could be why, it seems your app is moving along otherwise.

Hi all. My husband is in Nigeria, which I guess is considered a 'red flag' country. Our application is now at the Accra VO. Just wanted to get some thoughts on if we should send in additional proof of our relationship even though we haven't been asked to do so. On one hand we supplied the proof as requested and they are trying to speed up processing times by limiting what they receive, but on the other hand it takes them a month to get documents when requested so I'm wondering if we should get a head start on suppling what we have? Had anyone heard of others sending more proof in without it having been requested? Thanks for thoughts on advance.
