Dear Experts,
I applied for the citizenship 3 years ago, and i got the citizenship 3 months back. After completing my residency requirement, I applied for the citizenship 3 years back, and i came back to my home country. Now i want to sponsor my wife and children, and i want to move to canada after they will be approved for permanent residence. I can see that a citizen can apply if he is living outside canada, he just has to complete the RESIDENCY DECLATION.

My question is, My case will be a simple case OR my presence outside canada will make it complicated and difficult ?

If you are a canadian citizen: You can sponsor a family class while you lives outside canada, but you need to prove that you intend to live there when the times come (Rental papers, Job Contract, School, etc..)

Thanks for your help, any other friend wants to add something more?

no, the other poster told you pretty much everything there is to it. good luck!

Yes, a citizen can sponsor while living outside Canada.
But your case may not be simple. The visa officer wants proof that the sponsor and the applicant will move to Canada once the applicant gets the PR visa. You will have to supply proof of that with the application. In cases where the Canadian citizen does not appear to have much attachment to Canada - for example, left Canada soon after getting citizenship and has not lived here since - the visa officer will require more proof of your intent to return.

I sponsored my wife while I was living outside of Canada. The instructions are clear on what they need to prove intention to return to Canada - things like mortgage/rental agreements, job offers, school enrollment, etc. Check the list. I would advise that you more you can show, the better. For me, I spent nearly $1,000 renewing professional licenses and memberships that I had allowed to expire. Early in the application process I had sent these along, late in the process I got a letter asking to update on how the licenses were going. I was able to send the completed licenses. I also got estimates to ship out pets to Canada, moving company receipts for our goods, proof of having taken out medical insurance during the Medicare waiting period, etc.

The more proof that you can produce, the better you'll be.

You can also include letters from friends and family that are in Canada and that they are willing to assist you in your re-establishment in Canada. This is what my wife has done on her application to sponsor me over. We both live in NZ, she is the Canadian.

Hello, I hope your application has been processed successfully. What did you end up sending as proof for intent to return? Thanks

Hello, hope your application has also been processed successfully by now. Would love to know if these letters from family/friends sufficed. Thanks

Hi there jdCanadian, yes they seemed to do the trick. My wife and I have been living in Toronto now for almost 2 years.
