Spousal application - PGWP expiring soon... Help!

Hey guys,

I tried to find something similar here in the forum but couldn't so I am hoping for some guidance.

I filled an outland common law sponsorship application (using a lawyer) since it was the fastest processing. The application has been accepted for processing, we got the email from CIC. I am currently on a Post Graduate Work Permit of 3 years set to expire in July 21st. What are my options here? How can I extend my work status to wait for my PR?

I have read many instances here of applying for a work permit and getting implied status... Do i have implied status since I am waiting on an extension (of sorts) of my status in Canada?

Hi

You have no option to extend your work permit based on the sponsorship app. Unless you qualify in some other way, you will need to apply to change your status to visitor.

Applying for PR doesn't grant any form of Implied Status.
