I applied online on may 17 th with upfront medical,strong sop,financial proof and a course related to my studies and work experience.
On June 5 , final decision changed to application approved,sent us your passport to finalize. But no approval letter. Still waiting for approval letter, because VFS needs approval letter to accept the passport. Reported the problem as a technical issue on 15 th June. Technical issue marked as read on 16 the June.

Hi everyone,

As an update, I got a notification in the CIC website to submit my passport. (along with an email)
It took exactly 3 weeks since the day of the application on 22 May.
My online documents were organized very well with an index and hyperlinks within the pdf.

Also, I am a graduate with 17 years of experience....
So if there is any mature student out there, who is pessimistic of getting a visa - NEVER give up hope!
As long as you do your best, you will achieve success!

hey, I have 7 years of work experience and looking forward to applying for PG diploma after graduation being passed in 2008, is that possible to go for the PD diploma? Most of the consultants are saying my visa will be rejected as Canada does not accept this much gap.

Don't trust the Consultants. Apply yourself and make a very strong application.
I don't think graduating in 2008 will be a problem (as I graduated in 1999 and still got a permit).
As long as your application is genuine, you have a good school and your intention is to really study, you should get it

i will be studying a Phd in Electrical & computer engineering in Concordia university .. i Got a scholarship which will cover all my study!
I Got the CAQ and i have good travel history and work experience! and i submitted a bank certificate claims my father will support me with 60KCAD

so do u think i will get the visa ?

Hi Salah, based on the information you provided, your chances seem good. Just make sure you create a strong SOP. Link your previous educational qualifications and experience and show how the PhD will help your career. Also, make sure that your work related prospects, after you get the PhD, are improved in your home country. Lastly, show strong ties to your home country with investments, assets, familial ties etc...so that you can convince the VO that you shall return to your home country - and I think you will be all set!

actually i didn't submit any thing about the SOP .. because it wasn't ordered from me to upload it !
beside all forms in the CIC were asking about my experiences and my studies ,, and other forms asked me all info about my family and job of each member ,,
am i in good situation ?

I did get an email from donotreply@cic.gc.ca ("You have a new message in your account for application no.0000000000").
On my CIC application page, the status of 'Final decision' changed to " Your application was approved. You need to send us your valid passport to finalize your application. Check your messages below for details"
The status for all other rows remains unchanged.

Same here. But no email or message in my account. Didn't you get an approval letter too? I didn't.

Visa applied on May 10th.

REFUSED on May 25th.
Reason for refusal :
1) Purpose of visit
2) Personal assets and financial status.

I'm accepted to engineering at York. Unfortunate, but I plan to apply again by next week.
