Hi All,

I need advise to reapply my parents supervisa; refusal reasons;

mom- family ties ( Her only sister in US. my sister in US, me here in Canada)
- personal asset and financial status

dad- did not attach medical insurance for supervisa

They're both not working, my mom is 56 and dad is 59 turning 60 in September. I am the one supporting them financially, I attached my monthly remittances from Jan.2016-May 2017.
I even inlcuded in my letter that I and my husband will support their travel including air fare, medical, food, etc

How can I make it right this time?

TIA

Hi,

Medical insurance is a requisite for super visa applications.

Do post the list of documents which you parents had submitted + the refusal reasons

Cheers

My mothers bank statement for the past 4 months, explanation letter stating not buying ticket yet

And do they have to do an upfront medical exam?

No, upfront medical exams are not necesssary. The visa office will send the requests for medicals.

Did your parents submit only your mom's bank statement + the explanation letter?

Yes and all other forms. Only my mom has the account. They don't have property coz our house is under my sister's name still on mortgage.

Unfortunately, your parents would not have got super visas by submitting only your mom's bank statement + an explanation letter minus medical insurance.

It will be quite a challenge to get super visas for both your parents.

1. Do your parents get pension every month? Or they have pension funds?

2. Do they have bank term deposits? Or investments in shares/stocks?

3. Do they have a Power of Attorney to represent your sister for her property?

4. Do they live with any other dependent family member? For example, your grandparents?

5. Do your parents volunteer at a charity or similar organization?

6. Any other ties which they can prove?

They are not on pension yet as they are 56 and 59 yrs old.

2. Do they have bank term deposits? Or investments in shares/stocks?
My mother is the only one with bank account and I'm the only one providing them money

3. Do they have a Power of Attorney to represent your sister for her property?
My sister can make one, i already ask her to send it to our mom once done.

4. Do they live with any other dependent family member? For example, your grandparents?
They are the only one at home plus our three dogs
5. Do your parents volunteer at a charity or similar organization?

No work, no properties

Can I just apply my mother so I can resolve the family ties, so my mom will have her husband at her country of residence?
We're looking for possible way still.

With no finances, no property ownership, no employment/business, etc it's going to be incredibly difficult for both your parents to be approved for TRVs or super visas.

You're right. Apply only for your mom with your dad as the family tie to return to.

Even in this situation, her financials are weak as you have been transferring money to your parents. Nonetheless you can give it a try.

Do go through the list of super visa-specific documents that you must submit, including a minimum insurance coverage of CAD 100,000 for one year

I'm thinking of just applying her a regular visit visa for less than 6 months. And yes, I think I can only apply for mom. Thanks so much Bryanna. Really appreciate your responses, it's a big help. I'll keep you posted.

You're welcome :)

I'm thinking of just applying her a regular visit visa for less than 6 months.
Do keep her visit to 2-3 weeks max. Don't mention that she would like to visit for 6 months.

Her financial situation is weak. Ideally, it would have helped if your parents had some source of income/investments even if it wasn't much.

You can include the Power of Attorney from your sister. It would help if your mom includes evidence that she has actually represented your sister after the POA for some matter.

Also, do include 1-2 reasons for her to return by a specific date with evidence, such as a wedding in the immediate family, or another holiday in her home country after her Canada visit, etc

You may also want to include an overseas travel medical policy (not mandatory, not the super visa insurance) for the intended dates of her visit

There's always some chance - but if medicals have already been passed, the chances of refusal are low.

Hi Bryanna, I have seen that you have helped many through this forum. I need your help. I applied for my parents' visa on Jan 25th and got refusal letter yesterday and the reason provided was strong family ties in Canada, no travel history and purpose of visit. I am now in a shock and unsure on what can I do. I meet LICO comfortably, own a house and just me and my husband here in canada. Also attached property valuation of over almost CAD 600,000 and CAD 24,000 bank balance for my parents. Please advise what can I do next , I really want to bring my parents to visit me here.

But Bryanna has not been in this forum since last June.

Can you tell us what were the refusal reasons and what material you provided in that application? Otherwise you can always order the relevant notes from the government to see the details written by the visa office and start a new application from there.

Hi Steaky! Thank you for your response. CIC refused my parents' visa on following grounds:
- No travel history
- Strong ties to Canada
- Purpose of Visit

Its true my parents did not travel anywhere out of country . So, dont know how to address this issue.
In terms of ties, my parents have 3 daughters: one if my sister is in US but my elder sister is still in Nepal and she is very close with my parents. My mother owns property of very decent amount (valued approx- $590,000) and also I showed CAD 23,000 bank balance of my mother.
I stated purpose to visit is to have a together time and to show her around. I also stated that now I own a house here so we could live comfortably for the duration of their stay. What purpose is enough purpose if parents wants to see their children after over 5 years is not an enough purpose.
I included my and my husband's NOA, employment letter for my husband and myself, Medical insurance for 1 year for both, invitation letter, letter of financial promise., property valuation for my parents and their bank balance.

Surprising timeline was so fast though- Applied on Jan 25, Biometric request on 26 Jan , biometrics completed on 29th Jan and refusal on Feb 3. Total processing time- 9 days including weekends . WOW !
I really want to bring them here for visit, please help what can i do.
