He is a registered immigration lawyer in Canada with a lot of successful cases. Doesnt he know such simple rules?

It's an easy mistake, and being registered means nothing. Lots of reports here of lawyers being wrong. The below is the basic, default list for everyone to follow.

Look here:

A personalized document checklist is produced for each applicant when they submit their e-APR through their online account. The personalized checklist identifies the specific supporting documents required from each family member included on the application.

Translation of documents
If a supporting document is in a language other than English or French, the applicant must provide IRCC with a copy of the original document as well as a version translated by a certified translator.

If a supporting document is in a language other than English or French, the applicant must provide IRCC with:

• the English or French translation; and
• an affidavit from the person who completed the translations; and
• a certified photocopy of the original document."

Then, as others also said, this is the shortest path..
You can do it alone without a lawyer this time to be sure.

I said. we provide them with all "certified photocopy of the original documents+their certified translation". But they rejected! They had everything that they had asked for.

You did not provide the original but black and white certified photocopy along with a translation! Its the translators job to attach certified photocopy, its default. Your lawyer should have scanned the original (if possible in color) too and provide along with a translation.

"Certified photocopy" is not the same as "the original"

You did not provide the original but black and white certified photocopy along with a translation! Its the translators job to attach certified photocopy, its default. Your lawyer should have scanned the original (if possible in color) too and provide along with a translation.

Yes. That might be the only reason of rejection, other than human error.

And now this got me worried, my marriage certificate is also stating that it's a certified copy, it's colored, ratified with stamps and signatures from all possible entities: court, ministry of justice and ministry of foreign affairs, would this be a problem to them?

I'm from Syria and you know that it's almost impossible to go back there to do anything!

Affidavit is just a translators statement that this document is original and he is providing a true copy of it along with a translation. Every translator should have this automatically. You need also the scanned original along with a copy and a translation.

I didn't start my application yet, I'm still gathering my stuff, this is absurd really, if your original got lost, stolen or whatever, you shall pay the price!
