I am a British Citizen who has lived in Canada since 2011 on student visas. I completed a UBC bachelors and an Advanced Diploma at BCIT. I am currently on a 3 year Post Graduate Work Permit that expires in April 2019.
I am currently working as an intern for GE Digital in Vancouver. They have offered me a a job as an independent contractor for them. They have recommended that I set up a sole proprietorship business. GE has an existing business partnership and contract terms in place with Kavaliro that would invoice GE and process my pay weekly. I am not sure what Skill Type this would classify me as in the NOC. I just want to make sure this experience would put me on track towards getting Canadian PR through Skilled Worker (Express Entry).
Would this work count as self employed and does that still count towards NOC experience?
I have been looking it up online and I'm not sure if this would count as self employed, if it doesn't count woards my NOC experience I may be able to work directly for Kavaliro, the staffing firm, who would hire me based on the work required for GE Digital.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
