My current score is 368... Any hope in next couple of months?
There are no limits to hope! If you have done your best then do not worry, the good will come your way. I wouldn't say 368 is impossible, if you are not in a hurry, you can wait and watch the trend of CRS cut-off for next couple of months, the picture will be clear to you. If you are in a hurry or you are losing points in a short while due to age or some other factor, then I would suggest to take the IETLS again and improve your score.

Having said that, Do not lose hope at any cost, good things take time to come but they stay forever.

So, to sum up, definitely find a job depends on 3 things:
- Field, including experience and education
- Level of English
- People you know that can refer you
I´m having trouble understanding this. Canada as we all know is looking for immigrants, otherwise there wouldn´t be such thing as Express Entry. But at the same time, when they get there it appears as many of them struggle for a long time trying to find a job.

So, it kind of makes no sense to me having such a flexible immigration system attracting thousands and thousands of new residents every year when you don´t have enough jobs to offer. Perhaps I´m missing something here.

I expect to settle in this great country in the future, but I don´t want to find out later that the possibilities weren´t nearly half as good as I expected them to be. After all, we are all investing significant amounts of time and resources trying to immigrate. Obviously I expect competition, but when I read about people sending over 50 resumes and getting only one job interview I get panicked. With that being said, I personally hope the Finance and Accounting job market which is my field won´t be as limited as in other professions.

Finance and Accounting is a broad field and therefore jobs are available at large scale. However, you will find it very difficult to join Big4 or large corporations unless you have been working at Big4 back in your country.

The best way to find jobs in Canada is to get enrolled in Gap Years or do Apprenticeship with large companies, get your skills updated with Canadian Tax and Corporate Laws, and get registered with your local government. Also, search for start-ups through LinkedIn that have potential of growth.

I have seen my friends getting jobs in few weeks of landing with effective interaction with employers directly before landing. The companies they got hired includes P&G, Goldman Sachs, and PwC. All they did was got conatct information from Social Media and websites, and contacted recruitment heads for meeting and that's it.

So, I will suggest anyone coming to Canada to prepare themselves and contact recruiters before landing to canada. This will save their time and get them started straight away.

you are right everyone knows that it is not an easy path, however still we all have some reason to go there and settle there, there must be something that we all are looking fwd for and that is missing in our home country,,, Canada has only 6% unemployment ratio and very less people lives below poverty line,,

even i heard many stories that immigrants are struggling there however down to the road after 5 years everyone does something best for themselves, it is good that u r into finance probably after reaching there you can immediately enter into job market however i am lawyer by profession hence i will have to undergo and finish various exam before i can enter into bar and then all hurdles of getting interview after sending 50 resumes and all will start, still i am positive about it and wish best for myself and my family,, all the best to all of you

Arod, if someone say to you that immigrating is easy, they are lying to you. I do not from what country you are, but imagine that you own a Finance and Accounting company, and the government of your country is bringing immigrants... and some of them send you resumes, but they are not fluent in your language although they can communicate well, and they were not educated in your country, so they have trouble understanding the Finance and Accounting rules. Obviously, you would prefer to hire someone that can communicate without any errors, and was educated in your own country.

The Canadian government tries to settle newcomers, but they cannot guarantee anything neither can force any company to hire anyone. That's why they prefer anyone that has a job offer or Canadian education. And that's why who gets CLB 9 and Canadian Experience get extra points on EE. And also, why people on CEC do not need PoF.

I got your fear. I came to study in Toronto just to move from a violent country. I have spend 28k CAD in a 2-year Diploma (after a bachelors, post-graduation and Master's at home), but it worth because back home I couldn't leave without fear for my own life. I had my own apartment, new car, good job, excellent salary, but I couldn't enjoy any of it.
Here, only my husband works... (I will only start next week), I had to attend classes with people 10 years younger than me, but I can tell you, no money pays you be able to use your notebook on public transportation or arrive at home 2 a.m. without fear your own life.

Yeah, the first year will be hard, but then, everything will be OK.

You still have not applied for PR, because with CRS 414 you cannot have received an invitation (yet, maybe tomorrow you receive one). What you are now is in the Express Entry pool of candidates.
Anyway, I don't think there's a problem with apllying for a student visa.
But you should try the FAQ on the CIC or maybe giving them a call.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/call.asp

Edit: I did a search, you can actually apply for both things, read here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/visa/dual.asp

Hope to have helped.
Thank you so much for the reply
I have already applied for PR
My file is there in the express entry pool I hope we all get ITA tomorrow :)

I am a Chartered Accountant in India with over 5 years of work experience in PwC. However I still plan to pursue CPA on reaching Canada since it would be a huge requirement to get a Canadian degree in order to get high paying jobs in Canada.
