Hey, thanks for letting me know that this is the reason why we are a complex case. Just sucks to see that our due date was actually already Feb not march (sorry read that wrong before) and it is just laying in Ottawa since beginning of January. And from my notes we had everything passed in nov 16 security, criminality etc but now criminality is in process again. Hope something will happen soon and it stops just catching dust in Ottawa.
Have a nice day everybody and good luck to all of us.You can call CIC to check what this due date is for. It can be anything, such as the date the Visa officer will check your documents or pass it.

where is your file location??? every location have each due date. when i check this forum's past records, location PACE due date will be PPR date.

For those that have passed the 16 month timeframe, what steps are you guys taking ? Do you call CIC every week or month ?
If we passed the 16 month already, is it possible to get request on the 18th month, 20th ? 22?
Any good stories on here ?
Ofcourse, the case i am referring to is that of everything passed with security screening in progress in GCM notes.

I have called once a month since March. My file is still in BG check stage.

A quick question, my status for background check has changed to NOT APPLICABLE last week. Before it was "Your application is in progress. The next step is to conduct a background check."
Does this happens? I mean how could it go to not applicable or what could be the reason? Or is that they have competed the background check?

It seems like you are so new to this process my friend. Yes it is normal. If you are still within 16 month processing time please enjoy life an do not worry about anything for now.
I called CIC and learned that they are doing criminal check with Canada police for me too. Do you know how long it takes? I asked CIC when they could get it, the lady told me they can not push police, they will have to wait. Does there anybody know how long the criminal check take? As I know we all passed criminal check in 2016. Don't rely on call center. If you have received GCMS notes, you can see the criminality and I am pretty sure, they do the criminality before medical
