Is there a format for the LOE? Does it have to be written by hand or printed, signed and scanned? Can I just convert a word document into PDF and upload without printing?
No, it's completely up to you. It doesn't need to be signed either so you can just print to PDF and go.hamgha said:Is there a format for the LOE? Does it have to be written by hand or printed, signed and scanned? Can I just convert a word document into PDF and upload without printing?
If you want to sign it then you can but it isn't mandatory because the LoE itself isn't a mandatory document. Tbh, I'm not even sure how much effort the Canadians put into reading it.hamgha said:Great! Because I hate printing when it can be avoided
You're overthinking it. You can literally write a paragraph in word and save it as PDF.OK. I found the answer to my question. It can be useful for everyone: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1213&top=23
If I understand well:
- Format doesn't need to be PDF at all means, as long as it respect the minimum/maximum size. If it's too big, it's not possible to upload anyways, and an error message will be displayed in red.
Cheers,
- 96 dpi is the lowest tolerated resolution (and not 200 DPI, like what I read somewhere on the forum)
OK, but is there something wrong with Word format? I didn't plan to convert it. And I didn't read anything saying that it has to be in PDF format. You're overthinking it. You can literally write a paragraph in word and save it as PDF.
No problem in word format, but PDF is usually smaller.OK, but is there something wrong with Word format? I didn't plan to convert it. And I didn't read anything saying that it has to be in PDF format.
