Has anyone applied online or at the police station with their Emirates ID? Did they ask you for new photos or do they use the one on their system?

Also, are we able to obtain a stamped hard copy or will the soft copy sent by email suffice?

Thanks!

No just go to the CID HQ and tell them you want a clearance certificate for Canadian immigration and show them a print out of the ITA message you received if they ask for evidence. Take your passport or emirates ID along with a recent photo. They only need one photo. They'll give you a hard copy that you can then scan and upload.

I went to the police station, they only asked for the Emirates ID + 220 AED. They said the certificate will be sent by email. That was it. Might have to go and pay the fees again.. Ugh.

When did you go and which police station?

Edit: Just read that you mentioned CID HQ. Hopefully they accept the issuance of an updated certificate with a more recent photo without asking for more fees.

I would just go to the CID HQ which is on the way to Sharjah. I went last month and had no problems. It seemed as though they were used to such requests.

Are you requesting another certificate?

I wish I had asked before going today. The call centre and the officer were pushing for the online application though. I guess it's only the HQ that does it the old way for some reason.

I'll wait for the one I requested to be sent by email. I managed to find an article that mentions that all eDocuments can be verified through the link below by entering a reference number and security code mentioned on the document. I suppose CIC uses it as they mention that you can apply online.

If it works, then I'll probably just stick with it even though my Emirates ID photo makes me look like a criminal lol

not sure the link provided is the correct one, better go personally or send documents to friend / relative to visit HQ..
CIC requires police certificate, not any online verification document..

No this link can be used later on to verify the PCC that you get.

Its quite simple... In fact I think its simpler to go to the police station than do it online.

I went to the Main Police Headquarters (CID) near Al Qusais near the metro station. I did not carry a photo. Just my Emirates ID. I went in the morning just when they opened at 8 am. I took the token and waited for 5 min. In 5 min I was called since no one else was there. Asked me why I wanted the certificate. Told him its for Canada immigration. The officer took my emirates id. Ran it through his system. He took the picture off my Emirates ID/Police system. Paid him the fee. Told me I will get in email the same day or next day. SInce I went in the morning, I guess I was lucky that the same day afternoon at about 2pm, I got the email with the digital copy. CIC accepts digital copy of Dubai PCC so thats not an issue. The whole process at the Police HQ took 15 min. Super Easy!

Hello guys! Has anyone experienced in getting PCC from UAE if you do not reside in UAE anymore (i.e. form another country?

I left UAE/Dubai 3 mos ago and cancelled my resident visa.
I applied for PCC via online on 10th of July 2017. I put my Emirates ID number i used to have and attached all the previous resident visa. after the online payment I received an email from DubaiPolice that my PCC will be ready in 5 working days.

the question is: if i get an electronic version of PCC, will CIC accept it? as I am a former resident of UAE?

thank you in advance

I got my PCC from Al Barsha Police station today. It took 15 mins (including waiting!) and the report was emailed to me within 2 hours.

Fast service and easier to just goto the station rather than applying on line.

Hi
Thanks for the information. However CIC mentions that you can apply online if you are not in UAE and if you are not a UAE citizen. I'm an Indian citizen currently in India can I use an electronic copy of the certificate ?
