Oh alright noted! I mean I can try to make a very conving SOP pero ako mismo may doubts na baka mareject kasi yun nga, di logical... thanks so much peej06!!

also to scorpio for your answer haha... so postgraduate certificate na talaga hehe...

ask ko nalang if matapos yung term ko dun, i can apply for PGWP right? i read somewhere na if one year / less than a year yung study term mo, they can only issue PGWP up to one year as well? is that correct ba?

if so, how can i lengthen my stay pa there if kunwari up to one year lang PGWP na inissue sa akin? if nabigyan na talaga ako ng full time job offer nung company, saka lang nila ako pwedeng i-permit na magstay pa ng mas matagal?

sorry for all the questions and all... i'm thinking long-term na kasi haha
Yes, 8 months to 1yrs and 11 months is equal to the length of the study.
2 yrs is 3yrs pero may mga nagbibigay ng 3yrs sa 1.5yrs or so.

How to lengthen your stay...
Get full time job from the company.

Other option includes
If single marry a Canadian (spousal sponsorship) or cohabit for a year (common law partner)
If running from a war in Mindanao file a refugee claim.
If you held senior managerial position in the Philippines apply for Express entry and other economic class program
If you have someone in Canada who is related to you in some way, who has no; spouse, dependent children, father and mother, ask him or her to sponsor you though the "lonely canadian" rule

Also, I am trying to apply for Fall 2017 intake. With the 8 week student visa processing times, is it safe to apply by mid June? I know it's a tight schedule but I was thinking, I can get my study permit (in theory, if God willing) by end of July/ early August which will hopefully give me enough time to re-apply (in case of rejection) or fly in time to September start of class? I'm planning to do my medical upfront to help with the very tight timelines. :-[
2. Apply early!
*Although you can check online how long it is taking on average to process study permits, it is always a good idea to apply as early as possible, and at least four to six months prior to the start of classes.
*To check average processing times online, please visit www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp/students.asp

Yeah one year study = one year PGWP. It's risky since they issue you PGWP only once. most provincial nomination programs require one year of work experience before you can apply for PR. There are exceptions or special programs for the not so populated areas or regions, but you still need a job offer / work experience. So in my opinion a one year PGWP is simply too short.

There are ways to extend your stay, not your PGWP, but it's complicated with no guarantee that you will be able to stay permanently. So two year course is the safest pa rin.
oh alright got it! thanks for all the feedback guys!

Doesnt matter kung magtravel ka habang nagiintay however kapag hiningin yung passport mo you have to give it to them.

Real Case Scenario:
Received a refusal for Sep class.
Re-apply within a week.
Before Sep she withdraw her tuition for that school.
When September comes her visa got approved
We cannot wait until the next year because there's a high chance of refusal of study permit at Port of entry.
The course is offered once a year.
Visa must be use right away to avoid having a wide gap.
We look for other school that offers the same course for winter class.
She got accepted and receive LOA from that school.
In summary: Use your visa asap and your course should be the same as the one in your application, although not exact.
Study permit extension is if you already have a student permit and you need to extend your stay.
Its normal to apply for extension to finish your study.

Thank you sa reply Kapatid.

I mean, for example, nagstart na yung schoolyear pero wla pdn ung visa.. then later, naapprove po? Meron po kayang ganong case?

Actually you can take 1 year course and another 1 year course back to back and they will give you 3 years PGWP :)
Pwede din post grad then masters degree kaya lang mahal ang masters degree dito, and they have a lengthy application process.

Yes, travel abroad is okay. Unless you are also travelling to Canada.

No need to re-apply for September intake. Kasi your visa is valid from six months of issuance. So what you have to do is to come here a little bit earlier for the next intake.

Or if your visa gets approved in the first week of May classes, pwede ka pang humabol, kausapin mo lang school mo. Pero if beyond that, better to delay enrollment tilll next intake

I think you have to send your passport to the place where you filed your application because it will be specified in your visa where it was issued.

Hello!

Sa public school I think it's almost free and you just have to bring some of their school credentials from back home. Better make sure at point of entry that thepiece of paper printed for them has details that they are allowed to study. Best is to know as early as now which school you intend to have them study in and send an email to one of their staff/admin to inquire. My son kasi is just 3 so next year pa and I will be on Work Permit by that time. With daycare naman, we pay 800/ month kasi sa mississauga wala subsidy ang mga students... BUT in Toronto, you can get subsidy for daycare if you can provide proof that you are a full time student and your partner is working fulltime and falls under a specific income range I think. Take note that the waiting list is vERY VERY long too!

For bringing in food naman, what I noticed is lahat ng pagkain natin sa pinas is almost meron lahat dito. Balut lang yata ang di ko pa nakikita so it might be more convenient to just not bring anything that may cause you trouble. :)

Just a reminder to everyone, if you are really serious about applying, please read this thread from the beginning because the process barely changed and you will learn from the mistakes and success stories of people. No need for any agency because by merely reading here, mas madami pa ako nalaman kaysa sa mga agency and the money saved can go to your rent/bus money :)

Here's a sample computation bakit 10k/year ang hinahanap na show money for a single person:
1. Rent 700-1.5k/month depending sa location and if room lang, basement or 1 bedroom apartment
2. Bus pass, I spend roughly 150/month and this excludes trips on weekends
3. Food, very subjective on how picky you are pero we spend 100/week
4. Gas 50/week
5. Car insurance 350/month for 2 drivers

So to give you an idea, we spend at least 2.5k/month. I hope this gives people a more realistic expectation kung magkano talaga ang kailangan nila. Syempre mas mura ang gastos if wala car and if single ka lang :)

Goodluck Sharonina! I hope she gets it! My advice is read this thread from the beginning so you know what to do and what not to do :)
This is very iformative. salamat po sa info! :) Considering SP pag di nagwork ang AIPP this year.

Just to correct about the validity of the visa. Six months in not the exact number kasi depende yun sa officer. They will typically give you the date up to the end of your school year. That is the time for you to enter Canada. What will make you stay in Canada is the study permit. But it is not advisable to have a huge gap in the issuance and entry in Canada. By huge I mean like a year.

Thank you very much Kapatid. So, the visa validity is only for you to come to Canada and the Study Permit yung mag-mmention ng duration of your stay. Kung June po maaapprove ang visa ko, and I travelled August, ano po ang need ko ayusin other than new LOA from school? May intake po ako, kaso mukang hindi po ako aabot since 8days plng since naapply visa ko, hehe. :) sobrang salamat po sa inyo..

^^I checked my visa, wala namang time frame kung kelan ka papasok talaga. Kapatid is right that you should not wait too long from visa issuance to enter the country lang. In your case, it shouldn't be that big a problem. And you need only your revised LoA nothing else. What school is it, if i may ask?
