I got thru for seneca in sept 2017. Just got my acceptance letter so im currently putting everything together to apply.

Networking diploma as well, plus ive also been in the field for a while.

Which school did you apply for?

Do you have any other qualifications? I hear its very suspect to visa officers if you sign up for a program lower than your current qualifications, for eg - doing a diploma if you already have a BSc.

@ RussianFlex ask you cousin to apply for your CAIPS to see what went wrong with your application. If you're going to re-apply get the notes before. I got rejected and that's what I'm doing.

@polar775 -- don't worry just read the instructions and put your application together.

Basic guide:

1. Make sure you have enough money in your account to cover your first year. This means: Tuition fees + $10,000 living + $1000 Airfare.
2. Show your intent to return home after studying.
3. Your program should be at the same level or above your previous education level. So if you have a bachelors, you should be pursuing a post grad.

Hello Russanflex,

I'm sorry for your refusal. I suggest you apply for your gcms notes which contains the exact concerns the visa officer had on your application. You can do so online via visafile.info at a cost of $25.00 US or if you have family there, they can apply and it will only cost CAD $5.00. Perhaps the V.O. considered your 10 years employment in the IT field, therefore concluding that a diploma will not improve your career prospects. I suggest you consider a BSc or a post graduate diploma/Masters degree. Hope this helps.

Yes this is very true. In the eyes of the V.O. it makes no sense pursuing a diploma when you already have a degree since it wouldn't improve your career prospects. The visa officer would assume you're not a genuine student (i.e. you will remain in Canada and work illegally.) It's better to go with a post graduate diploma/Masters degree. There are graduate certificate programs but I'm not sure if they are on the post graduate level.
