Hi all, I am planning on applying for the Express Entry for Canada.
I am in a fix about what marital status to show on the EOI.

I am currently living separately (not on talking terms) from my spouse, if I state "Separated" will I be asked to show some legal documentation? Because my husband won't comply or help me with anything.
And
If I state "Married" will only a Marriage Certificate be enough for the application?

PS: He is a Canadian citizen

Yes, the marriage certificate is sufficient if you will not be claiming any points through your spouse.

But will I still require his signature on the IMM5669(Background) forms?

Note that your husband will have to take and pass the medical in order for your PR visa to be approved. He will also have to provide PCCs and go through the background/security check process in order for your visa to be approved.

If he is not cooperating, then you need to legally separate from him and be able to prove to CIC that you are in fact legally separated. This likely means you need to file divorce papers. The divorce doesn't have to be finalized - but you do have to provide proof it's in progress.

Hi,
I'm im similar situation. Did you get your PR? Please share!
