So I was told by the immigration lawyer from our firm that the official calculator from the CIC website does not reflect the true score you will get. Does anyone have a better sense of this... Not that I am questioning the lawyer, just wondering why the government would publish such misleading tool on the website if it is not truly reflect the score you will get. :o

Not true at all . did they referred you to a write one though ? :o :) what was it ?

Well I've tried it myself and the results are very different than what my lawyer told me. Then I looked at the breakdown of the calculator results find out some discrepancies. See below:

Foreign work experience
A) Official Language proficiency and foreign work experience = 13
B) Canadian and foreign work experience B) = 13
Subtotal = 26
Certificate of qualification = 0

In the questionnaire, I didn't put any foreign work experiences, in fact I had one year full time experience in Cananda, that is exactly I put down, but the result above from the breakdown is showing that I had 26 points from foreign work experience.

I am confused, and that is what the lawyer told me that the calculator from the website is not correct. :(

I think the most accurate calculator is what is the official website. However, no matter which calculator you are using the important point is to get as much as score you can. In other words, you should try to increase your score by any means available.

believe me, once you have more than enough score, you will not even spend one minute on calculators.
