WES result - Completion of a college-level certificate (one semester)

Hi everyone,

Just in the process of setting up an Express Entry profile,

I recently had my BTEC National Award Certificate (it was a full time one year Business course) verified through WES and the result of Completion of a college-level certificate (one semester) was sent. Does this mean I can put down 'One-year degree, diploma or certificate from a program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute' on my application? It's my only post secondary qualification currently so id be lacking on points if I'm unable to.

Also does skilled work experience in Canada also count general skilled work experience?

Was wondering if you selected 'One-year degree, diploma or certificate from a program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute' for your educational credential, I'm with the same issue and I'm not sure if 'Completition of a college-level certificate' does not require it do be one year.

I'm in the same situation situation - my diploma got assessed by WES as a "diploma (one semester)". I'm wondering if this means I should list it as 'One-year degree, diploma or certificate from a program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute' or as a 'secondary diploma' on my Express Entry application?

Does anyone have any advice / experience with this?

I am also stuck with the same problem that I have an educational credential evaluation as postgraduate diploma one semester and I have no clue if I can select the one year degree/diploma.

Have you guys solved the issue and have you got a ita by selecting the one year diploma? Please let me know

Guys , go to IRCC page and find out the Canadian equivalency in your ECA reports list any one of the text as shown below.. ( for One year degrees)
WES updates their summary text based on IRCC ECA assesment results.. if it is same then yes, it is considered..
i doubt one semester falls into one year category, write to WES and find out..

Guys, I am in the same boat, though one of my diploma got a credential of Completion of a college-level certificate (one year). I got my ass saved and can claim Two or more certi diploma degree points.

However, I have asked about the query everyone is after to an experienced expert and he said that a certificate, diploma and degree needs to be a Complete one, like 1 yr, 2 yr etc. So, credential with Completion of a college-level certificate (one semester) can't be counted. On top of that, when you fill up the EDUCATIONAL part in the express entry form, it says "Complete certificate, diploma, degree".

Following is my WES ECA

Bachelor's degree (three years)

CREDENTIAL ANALYSIS
1. Credential: Diploma of Accounting

This is not true. Because in the education part of express entry form, we have to put qualifications individually and choose the exact credential given in the ECA for that particular qualification. Did crs calculate your score accordingly? As far as i know the certificates in the list are at a post-bachelor level. The thing is the crs calculator sometimes calculates an 11 month job as a year and if you get ITA accordingly your file will be rejected. Have you checked with CIC?

good for you I guess just saying to be careful and consider all options. For example you said WES puts the highest level in the summary, I had two bachelor degrees but my ECA summary clearly said Two bachelor degrees. If we were to go by what they said to you then they could've just wrote bachelor's degrees.
