Hi Legalfalcon,

I submitted my application on Nov 14. I have a doubt regarding work experience letter:
My company has policy that managers or HR cannot provide employment verification letter with all the details that CIC need. They can only provide a letter on blank paper (no letterhead), detailing job duties. The employment verification is provided via a document from theworknumber.com. Interested parties can also visit the website to verify the details. So I uploaded the following in a single doc:
1. A letter explaining the above.
2. Job duties letter from manager, signed by her, along with her contact info
3. Verification letter from theworknumber.com: It has employment status (Active), length of employment, job title, biweekly pay, number of hours per week, start date, total income earned per year for last 4 years and a footnote saying this document is electronically approved by the employer.
4. Original job offer letter - its on company letter head
5. Promotion letter - it is also on letterhead. It has my current annual salary
6. 2 most recent pay slips

What are the chances of my application getting rejected? Any ideas? I am nervous about this, but have no other options. In case you want to take a look at my letter, PM me how I should send it.

1. Is it after received PPR, I can assume everything is fine and no further documents or interview is required?
2. What is the expected time to receive the CoPR after submission of passport copy (visa-free nationality)?

What you did is correct and there is nothing to worry. You have pretty much covered everything with these documents and if CIC would like more information, which I doubt, they will contact you.

Just a quick question, I hope you have included the number of hours in the letter? I do not see you mentioning it?

Once you have the PPR, you are almost there and I have not heard of any case where the visa was refused. However, landing as a PR is the final step, and that is where the immigration officers can technically refuse you entry of grounds such as a criminal activity, fraud etc. But apart from that, there is nothing to worry and you are good. For sure there will be no more documents or interviews requested by CIC.

The expected time after passport submission varies from LVO to LVO. Usually the turn around time is 2-3 weeks, but in some case it does take longer depending on how many application are pending before you.

Yes, I included it both in my letter of explanation, and the proof for that is in the bullet number 3. I saw in another thread that the job duties letter should be notarized. I did not do that; it is on plain paper (signed by my manager along with her contact details). Is that cause for concern?

Once you take the PNP and you are given the PR based upon that, you have to stay in the nomination province for the stipulated period of time. You can travel to anywhere in Canada, but if you relocate and take another job before the expiry of your term, you are in violation of your PNP. Although, some people do it as it is difficult to trace everyone, but if you are caught, then you may face issues with the immigration.

There is no requirement of getting your job reference letters to be notarized. A lot of applicants feel that getting something notarized makes the document more credible which is incorrect. All a notarized document certifies is that the person who claims to be the signatory of the document did so in the notary's presence, his ID was verified and check and he most likely is the same person.

It in no way makes the document more credible. Further, the CIC does not require getting reference letters notarized. Another reasoning why CIC does not need letters to be notarized is that the applicant who submits the documents claims and certifies them to be accurate and correct. If these documents are found to be falsified, then the applicant will be subject to immigration penalties and will be prohibited from entering Canada.

This letter is addressed to candidates who have been invited to apply for permanent residence to inform them of the steps to follow to avoid technical difficulties when paying the fees for their permanent residence application.

Recent changes to the Express Entry system took place on November 19, 2016. While your application is not affected by these changes, the recent update may be causing problems with paying the application fee and submitting your application on time.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is giving you fifteen (15) more days from the date in your invitation letter to follow the steps below and submit your application. This will make sure you have more time to successfully submit your application for permanent residence.

To ensure that your application is submitted without difficulties, you need to confirm that you provided all the information for your education history and personal activities. To do this, follow these steps:

1. In your profile, go to each web form and open the subsection that includes a grid of saved records. Scroll to the bottom of the section and click the Modify button on a grid entry.
2. Your profile will display your previously entered information. To validate that you have provided all the necessary information, please click the blue Check for Completeness button at the top of the web form.
3. When you have provided the necessary information and are ready to save, click the blue Save and exit button.

My work permit is due to expire so I'm planning to apply for a bowp. My AOR is July 14 I just wanted to ask if my wife can also apply for a bowp too. She had an open work permit through my dual intent Lima

Yes, you and your spouse can both apply, however before you apply your EE PR application should have been filed and R10 should be complete.

Dear LegalFalcon,

My wife is a medical doctor and we have done her ECA through WES, it says it is equivalent to Doctor of Medicine. Now I know that for primary applicants applying as Physicians, ECA has to be done through Medical Council of Canada. But could not find any reference for spouse. Should I select Bachelor or Professional degree for spouse in my Express Entry profile, please suggest. I was expecting initially that WES will classify her degree as Bachelor. I also dont understand that if CIC does not accept WES when WES classifies as professional degree, the why not WES simply classify it as Bachelor degree. CIC has given licensed to WES, they should have some common understanding, its really confusing. Thanks in advance.
