whats the best way to take money with you ..traveller cheque,keeping in mind that money exchangers in saudia have usually bad rates,,is it wise to make dollars or carry travellers cheque or do both caz u can carry upto 10,000 dollars CAD ....any ideas much appreciated

As far as I know, SABB, NCB & SAMBA doesn't make traveller's cheque anymore. You can try DD on your own name from any bank. The best and safest way is DD. It is better to get it from SABB as it is a part of HSBC. You can carry cash as well if you are comfortable with it. Its a little bit insecure but save you any risks in DD encashment. There is no limit to bring the money to canada. The 10,000 cad limit is about declaration. I.e if you are carrying less than 10,000 cad into canada, you do not have to declare it on the POE but if you have 10k or more cash, you have to declare it on airport. From saudi, allowable limit is 50,000 sar per person. Or 500 gm gold per person.

Hi,

I landed on 14 May with my wife and son. PR card for me and my wife were received on 15 July but for my son i received a photo resubmission request on 11 August.

I want to know that is it must that the photo should be taken in Canada or we can send it from outside canada as well, as i am back to KSA. Secondly, please let me know is it necessary that the details of photograher should be stamped on the back of the photo or he can write it by hand.

I am based in Riyadh, can someboddy advice the photo studio which he used for submitting the pics for PR card.

Kindly reply as i need to send the photos ASAP.

Hi Guys,

My current "job title" and "sponsor name" on Iqama is different as compare to my actual position and company. I mean my current sponsor/company name is not listed on my Iqama and job title also not matched, so could it be any problem if I apply under PNP? do they required translated copy of Iqama?

Open account in any bank with canadian dollar. Start transferring slowly on day when rate is good from Saudi to Canadian Dollar Account. Before coming just make draft from Canadian dollar to Canadian Dollar. no loss / minimum loss in this case.

They don't consider Iqma profession and employer on Iqama as long you can produce job letter from current employer.
