Hi guys, I'm posting regarding my friend's situation.

He finished his bachelor's degree last 2006. Since working, he also finished a diploma course and an advanced diploma.

His ECA results show the three:
Bachelor's Degree (4 Years)
College-level Post Graduate Certificate (1 Year)
Diploma (2 Years)

Can he declare "2 or More Post Secondary" in his EE Profile? Thanks in advance!

Check to see what qualifies here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/eca-conversion.asp

Specifically check each ECA result against what level it sits in. "Two or more" requires a 3+ years degree plus one more from any of the post-secondary qualifications listed or from a specified list. These include the likes of "Postgraduate certificate" and "Two-year diploma". You friend must be confident that what's in his ECA matches up with what's on the list. Must keep certificates and transcripts handy along with ECA certificate for PR application.

Thanks, so do you also interpret my friend's ECA result to be valid under the "2 or more post secondary education"?
His bachelor's degree is 4 years (which exceeds the minimum requirement of 3); then he completed the post graduate certificate and 2 year diploma.

I've pointed you towards the definitive resource and given you my input. Forward him my message and ask him to look at the published list. It should be pretty easy to work out but its your fiend who needs to be assured that he is making the right choice.

Hi Friends,

I have 3 years Diploma and then B.Tech degree (Lateral Entry) after my 12th.

So its like 12+3+3. Will it be considered as "Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees" which awards 128 points.

Your first step is to get an ECA done to determine the Canadian equivalent. It would depend on the results of the report and to what extent the diploma and degree were separate qualifications.

Hi syconetgeek,

I'm in exact same situation.

(10+2) -> Diploma in Computer Engg. (2.5 yrs) -> B.E. Computer Engg. (from 2nd year to 4th year)

I did diploma from Technical Examination Board, Gandhinagar and Degree from Saurashtra University.

Did you get your assessment done from WES ? If so, whats the result ?

I'm wondering if I can choose two or more certificates option...

Regards,
Dhaval

See my reply to syconetgeek one post above yours. You need to get ECA done. It's not possible to say until you have an ECA report in-hand, especially since you have used your diploma as credit towards your degree.

Hi
Highly appreciate if somebody will guide me please
I am about to start the FSW process
needs some points to be clear before i start
i have done 3 years bachelor degree in computer science and 2 years of MBA,apart from this qualification i have completed 1 year of Diploma in Surveying field and 1 year of certificate in surveying field
i want to gain my educational points on basis of bachelors and masters and support my qualification of 1 year diploma and certificate for job in canada
my questions are
1-what kind of ECA report is generated for me if i submit all credentials>my bachelors, masters and 1 year diploma course and 1 year certificate is also evaluated
2- my qualification of 1 year diploma and 1 year of certificate are main sources of FSW visa, can WES evaluate these, and can they also describe about the canadian equalancy level.(i need my professional diploma and certificate should be evaluated for canadian equalancy)

If you submit them all to WES, they will all be evaluated in the same ECA. You Canadian Equivalency Summary will be something like "Master's degree and Diploma (1 year) and Certificate (1 year).

2- my qualification of 1 year diploma and 1 year of certificate are main sources of FSW visa, can WES evaluate these, and can they also describe about the canadian equalancy level.(i need my professional diploma and certificate should be evaluated for canadian equalancy)
If they come from an accredited university, they will be assessed.

thanks

hi johnjkjk,

Thanks for the reply. I'm already in process of getting my transcripts.
However, I have one small doubt regarding my Diploma Transcripts.

I've done it from Technical Examination Board, Gujarat, and when I contacted them about the transcripts, they said that it is issued by the college in which I studied.

My question is, will the transcripts issued by the college be valid ?

In the document requirement, WES says "An official document issued by appropriate State Board of Technical Education. It lists all subjects taken and marks earned for each year of study."

I'm in a fix, but still, I'll follow the transcript process for my Diploma and forward it to WES.

Hope they provide the assessment for the same.

Regards,
Dhaval

Hello every one,

I am in a confused situation, I did my veterinary science bachelors from India, did my WES evaluation which states Canadian equivalency to 5 years of professional study in veterinary medicine and I need licence to practice it. On other hand, I came to Canada in 2012 Jan as student to centennial college and graduated from food science diploma which is of 2 year duration (16 months: 4 semesters Fast track). Now when i made a EE profile i was unaware of extra points i get awarded and just made a profile by choosing level of education bachelors to bachelors and diploma as diploma, i was stuck at 461. Later i realized from forum that i can claim points and made changes to my EE profile as Two or more degree option, suddenly my points bumped up to 481.

After reading some question and answers on forum, i went on to a page that one of our friend suggested in this thread http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/eca-conversion.asp
and currently, my human capital: Level of education in CRS calculation is 128 but i see 135 will be awarded if i choose professional degree needed to practice since veterinary medicine falls under it.
So i did choose level of education for Veterinary as professional degree needed to practice and WES report provided, Diploma from Canada level of education i filled two or more degree since this diploma is not related to veterinary science and doesnt need a licence to work. But points didn't bump up, i am still at 128 for education factor
I am applying under veterinary technician Primary NOC 3213 with 2 year of experience and other jobs i did falling under B category for a period of 1.5 year, since i am not currently licenced as veterinarian but still i am in the field and trying to clear my licence.

Should i put level of education same for both? Is that the misinterpretation of the data?

Please advice, if i can make improvement in points? please.

Thank you every one.

Hi people. :D

My husband has a Bachelor's degree (3y.o) and a technical certificate (2y.o.). So, can I declare "2 or more post secondary" in your EE profile?

I don't know if the "technical certificate" have another nomenclature for Canada. :/
