HI All,

I got following email from CIC medical department today-i did my medicals and panel physician found some spot in my chest and advised cic most likely to call me for further examination. In the below letter it says they required additional information what does it mean by that do they required another test or what?

---------------------------------------------------

Dear applicant,

Your immigration medical examination result has been received and in order to complete the assessment additional information is required.

Please print out a copy of this message and present it to the panel physician who did your initial immigration medical examination. In exceptional situations, you may utilize the services of another panel physician used for Canadian immigration examinations (http://www.cic.gc.ca/dmp-md/medical.aspx). Exceptional circumstances include: moving to a new location making it difficult to visit the original panel physician, or the original panel physician is no longer available.

You have 60 days from the date of this letter to comply with this request.
[/quo

Hi. it might be the medical furtherance. Call the clinic where you performed you first medical asap, given that time only 60 days to comply. They will give you instructions. Keep posted.

hi guys, i'm new here. I really need your help pls.

I am applying for a working visa in Canada.
Two weeks ago I have may pre medical exam done and found out that I have PTB and my PPD test is also positive. I consulted my Pulmonologist and he started my treatment for anti ptb medications for 6 months. Yesterday I went to Nationwide Health Systems Davao for my medical exam and told the panel physician that I am now on anti ptb medications for almost 9 days. She ask me to provide a copy of my condition and treatment provided to me by the pulmonologist. She said that I am for medical furtherance and needed to undergo 3 days sputum culture. The result will be available after 2 months and will repeat my xray after that.

Could anyone here know what will happen next and what should I needed to do?. Is there any possibility that the Embassy will still approve my application?..

Pls help me guys...

Hi

DO NOT WORRY!!

In general when TB is diagnosed panel physician will refer you to 6 months medication complying CHC standards and while you are under medication monthly x-ray will be monitored until they decided you are diseases free and followed by the pulmonologist report to CHC.

Yes, the embassy still approves your visa once they have report from pulmonologist confirming you are completely cured.

Be strong and take care of your health

All the Best.

Dear Friends,

I got a letter from health Unit which says that:

Dear Sir/Madam:

Immigration Canada's guidelines require that you have a medical follow-up done for Tuberculosis.

Please contact ......
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I made an appointment to see them next week, but my Ecas- Medical Received. file-September 8, 2014, Aor-Jan 8, 2015. Waiting for DM but what is it?...

I got a TB 14 years ago. My son got a primary a complex 14 years ago. Both of us are completely cured since that time.
Hi

Based on information from other threads in canadavisa forum I could say if ECAS status shows "Medical Received" it implies that you have passed your medicals already. But, In your email you are asked for a "Medical follow-up" NOT "Furtherance". so I guess sputum-smear culture test which takes 6-8 weeks time won't be part of your medical follow-up, which is a big relief. The reason why you have this request now is may be because its been an year since your AOR and CHC want to confirm your current health situation before DM ( just my assumption). Hope for the best.

Keep posting and let us all know why they have made this request and what is the outcome. Thanks in advance.

All the Best.

I am planning to apply my PR & open permit, then my extension work permit was on the process. My problem now they found a calcified granuloma in my left lungs and small fleural effusion , no active TB, but still the team needs me to have my Sputum test which Is impossible bec I am not coughing & how can produce sputum, I don't have shortness of breath or any symptoms of PTB. Any chance one here know CIC pulmo doctors in Hamilton Ontario, please! Thank you & God bless all.

You are referred to furtherance due to abnormal manifestations in your chest x-Ray and the discretion always with CHC to determine whether they are PTB linked or not.

Sputum formation is common in everyone but it's colour and state depends on its composition and health of the individual. Yes, many people struggle to produce decent quality of sputum for test in their healthy state but it's necessary to give 3 x 25-50ml each day for three consecutive days(*may vary from clinic to clinic) which is necessary for sputum-smear cultures.

Keep posting and all the best

I am new to this form seeking senior people advise, my wife went thru further medical process her Sputum reports were negative, on ECAS it shows medical receive but it has been 1month but no further information from CIC, Can some one tell me how much time it takes after submitting final medical report in active TB cases. Your information will be highly appreciable in this regard as no information available on CIC website even cic panel doctors have no clue how much time cic take.

Hi Cool Ammy

The medical exam results are valid for 12 months ONLY. If you do not come to Canada as a permanent resident within that time, you may need to have another exam.
Ref: (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-perm.asp )

since you are applying under family class, you may find better solution for your circumstances in the below thread:
