My wife is a MBBS, DNB Family Medicine from India. She completed her MBBS from Government Medical College, Trivandrum in 2008 (joined the course in 2003) and then completed her DNB Family Medicine (Diplomate of National Board, recognized by Medical Council of India) in 2015. We are planning for filing for Canada PR but before that wanted to get more insight on future prospects for my wife. We have the following question and any further information on these would be highly appreciated:

1. Is DNB Family Medicine from India recognized in Canada?
2. If my wife wants to do higher studies does she need to do the bridge course? What course is it and how many exam does she need to appear?
3. Is that the only required course or does she have to appear for any exam there to be able to do higher studies?
4. While doing higher studies will she be entitled to stipend? If so roughly how much?

Incase she wants to work what is the procedure?
1. Here again is a bridge course required?
2. After clearing bridge course can she directly apply to any hospital (with her existing degree if its recognized and it has value) where there is vacancy or is there some employment channel kind where she has to register and wait to be called?

1. She will need to take additional courses and exams in order for her qualifications to be recognized in Canada. This process typically takes a few years.
2. She will need to take additional courses and exams. Impossible to say how many - this will be determined as part of the process of evaluating her current education qualifications.
3. Again, impossible to say until her education has been assessed.
4. If she qualifies, she can apply for a student loan. She will have to pay this loan back once her studies have been completed.

1. Bridging courses and exams are required. Again, expect the process to take several years.
2. She can apply directly for open jobs.

If you plan to settle in Ontario, here's the process your wife will have to go through:

Thank you Scylla for your response.

Is there a way to get her qualification evaluated by sending scanned copies of the document to some office there? We are okay to pay the fees as well coz that will help what she will have to do and how much time would it take roughly. We are planning to settle down in Toronto. Do you have some process for that?

All of the information you are asking for is in the link I provided (Toronto is in Ontario - the link I provided is for Ontario). You need to read through this information in detail - as well as through the links referenced on that page. There's really no short cut to doing the research.
