Hello All,

I hava a post ITA question regarding difference in my name spelling.

There is a spelling difference in my first name. I have a correct name spelling on my all legal documents ( passport, birth certificate, driver's licence etc) except my educational documents. My first name spelling is different in all my diplomas and degree certificates. Its just by mistake which I never got corrected.

Should I say yes in my application, where it asks about, Has I used a any other name and upload a affidavit for the same or just say NO and attach a LOE with my educational qualifications?

Please guide me on this as I have very less days left to submit my application.

Thank you very much in advance.

Write an LOE and do an affidavit declaring what your full name is. Ensure affidavit is notarized. Include mention that your name is incorrectly spelt on your transcripts as well (if this is indeed the case).

I got a similar situation.

My name on passport is GIVENNAME LASTNAME (no space)
On other legar locuments is is GIVEN NAME LASTNAME (space in given name)
Whereas, on my educational documents, it is GIVEN NAME L (last name abbreviated to single character)

I suppose I need a self-declared affidavit notarized? Please confirm.

Get an affidavit documenting your full name (ie first name, middle name, and surname) and get this notarized. Use supporting documents to show your affidavit is correct.

Would passport work as supporting document? That is the only ID which has that kind of spelling. Everywhere else it is different!

I had exactly same issue,

There were some variations in my birth certificate, Official Documents & Educational Documents,

So I prepared an affidavit stating all the variations.

For this question: Has I used a any other name, I added the other two names.

When your checklist will be generated then there would be a extra slot "Legal Name Change Docs"

Just upload the affidavit there.

Yes, passport is an acceptable document. Ensure your affidavit has your name (exactly as it is stated on your passport).

Create an affidavit, duly notarized, that this is one and the same person.

Hi Everyone,

I have received the PR invitation under the Canadian Experience Class and I am in the process of uploading the necessary documents. I have concern about the difference in my first name between my educational documents and my passport. My first name in all my educational documents are listed as 'Saravana kumar' but in my passport and work permit my first name is listed as 'Saravanakumar' [without the space between Saravana and kumar]. I have a few questions regarding this,

1. First do I really need to mention this difference in the Letter of explanation?
2. If I need to mention do I need to get any affidavit or notary for that?

I am really confused. Can you all please give me suggestion how to proceed further?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,
Saravanakumar

Hi All,
Need advice as I have to submit my application for PR in EE

My passport name: Chalamalasetty Ravitej Laxman
My degree name: Chalamalashetty Ravitej Laxman

Just a letter "h" is added in degree name. Will this cause any problem? Is it ok if I explain this in LOE

Thanks
Ravi
