Yes. PCC is required if you stay more than 6months in a country.

yes, you have to submit the New PCC, apply as soon as possible

Yes, you have to apply for a Police certificate if you were in any country for more than 6 months after your 18th Birthday. This does not include Canada. You do not require a Canadian police certificate no matter how long you have lived here. CIC will conduct it's own background check.

I advice you apply for the Police certificate now without wasting any time. If you can't get your certificate in time [within 60 days for applying for PR], you can upload your request document stating that you have requested for the police certificate and then upload it when you have received it.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Hello Everyone,

I finally got all my documents together and am ready to submit my express entry application. I just realized that one of my police certificates is 92 days old. I know that CIC wants PC's which were issued in the last 3 months (90 Days). Should I just go ahead and submit my application or apply for a new PC? By the time I get a new PC I will run out of time to submit my application. Should I wait or should I submit my application?

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Option 1

Best option will be to Apply for new PCC. However submit your application with the existing PCC. Give a covering letter explaining that your current PCC has crossed the 3 month timeline. Tell you have applied for new PCC and attach the receipt and other proofs for that..

Option 2

Reject the ITA. Apply for new PCC. When you have the new PCC apply again and take ITA..
(Less advisable since you may not know when you will receive your next ITA)

Hi,
you don't need to submit any PCC (RCMP) for Canada. The CIC may ask for the one later though.

Hi - Are there instructions where it says the police clearance certificate has to be dated in the past 90 months from the day of the application? The link I see on the CIC site is below -

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/intro.asp

For the country you currently live in, the police certificate must be issued no more than six months before you apply.

For countries where you have lived for six months or more, the police certificate must be issued after the last time you lived in that country.

Appreciate the replies.

Thanks,

HP

Sorry but WHERE did you find that information? Your PCC should be issued after the last time you lived in the country!

Hi guys,

this is regarding PCC requirement. I just got an ITA yesterday.
I was born in india. Lived there till July 2012 and have been in Canada since. While visiting my family in Jan 2014, I got a PCC from India. Do i need to get a new one now or is that one, which is 1.5 yrs old, still valid ? Thanks a lot for your help

I applied in August 2015 with a PCC that was acquired in November 2014. CIC website states that PCC should be obtained after the period when you have last lived more than 6 months.

Your PCC should be fine!!! All the best with your application
