Hi all fellow applicants! i would greatly appreciate if someone can help me with this:

I have a college diploma (post secondary) & a degree. So by right this adds up to "Two or more post-secondary program credentials AND at least one of these credentials was issued on completion of a post-secondary program of three years or longer" which will reward me with 128 points.

In my EE application i added both of these 2 credentials in 2 different rows & selected "Bachelor's degree or equivalent blah blah blah..." for my level of education for each credential. Apparently EE only regards me as a candidate with 1 post secondary credential!!! (120 points).

Question: For the "Level of Education" selection for each of my credentials, should i choose "two or more certificates, diplomas or degrees blah blah blah..." option (since both of them do add up to 2 credentials but obviously each only equates to 1)?

Thanks in advance to whoever who can enlighten me! :-*

Hi,

Even I have a similar question. Can someone please help

Does WES provide equivalency for Diploma in Management from IGNOU. I could not verify this from WES "Free Degree Equivalency Tool" as no Diploma courses are available in the drop down list.

I have already got my Bachelor Degree(B.Tech - IT) equivalency from WES. Later I took this Diploma course from IGNOU.
Is it possible to claim "Two or more post-secondary program credentials AND at least one of these credentials was issued on completion of a post-secondary program of three years or longer" with a Bachelor and Diploma(If WES provides a equivalent)

Thanks.Awaiting your reply.

Hi Brenna,

if I'm not wrong, as long as your diploma is of a post secondary level (i.e. after high school), it can be recognized as 2 post sec credentials together with your degree as long as either 1 is at least 3 years in duration. Of course the diploma must also be verified by WES!

Hi Zosya,

Thanks for your input! According to the link you provided, it seems that what I said about my situation is correct? That my degree + diploma should get me 128 points Instead of the 120 that I'm being awarded now? Any idea how do I raise this up to CIC?

Thanks

Hi,

So here how it is, if you check the eca-conversion webpage you figure out that you should get points according to the, Two or more certificates, diplomas or degrees, at least one > 3years

But Question is What to fill, Individually, while filling each credential entries!!

Ideally, since it specifically asks, 'Level of education (Canadian equivalent) shown on report' for Each Individual credential, we should fill the equivalent shown on the report for that credential, which for eg for my case is Bachelor's Degree (Four years), and for the 2nd credential it's Bachelor's Degree (Three years)

But if I select the, Bachelor Degree..., option, I get points only for a single degree... the system/profile should automatically detect Two such entries and give 119 (with spouse) or 128 points! Right!!

That's when we got to think, why on earth has CIC even given the 'Two or more certificates, diplomas or degrees, at least one > 3years' option in the drop down for individual entries, so considering this as a goof up of CIC, I have selected this option finally and got my due 119 points!!

Note - it took the portal about 1.5 days for registering the changes and updating my points.

Hi there,

we have the exact same train of thoughts! Glad u contributed ur advice! i might be thinking a little too far here.. but i'm thinking the reason the "'Two or more certificates, diplomas or degrees, at least one 3 years' option in the drop down for individual entries" is present might be because some courses (i.e. double degree courses) might reward the candidate with more than 2 credentials upon completion? What's your take on this? :)

Also, under the first header (Canadian Equivalency Summary) on your 1st page of the WES report, does it say "Bachelors" or "2 post sec credentials"? Because mine shows bachelors even though i have a diploma and a degree accessed and recognised...

Thanks again!

You're not thinking too far, I connect with you on both...

The summary on the report says just 'Bachelors Degree (Four years)' which is my highest degree, but the eca-conversion.asp page of cic clears my doubts on this and your other interpretation (double degree)

on the eca-conversion page, they clearly indicate that for

"Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees.
Important notice: One must be for a program of three or more years.

ECA assessment results:

A three-year or more certificate, diploma, or degree

PLUS any of the results in the sections below (not including secondary/high school), or:"

And in the results in the below sections, which are by the way equivalent which ECA reports give, results of both my credentials are listed

Bachelor's degree (four years) and Bachelor's degree (three years) :)

And no such Double Degree result (equivalent) is given on this page!! ;)

HI,
I have nearly similar query, need help.
I have four years bachelors degree from india which i have evaluated from WES.
I have done one year diploma from canada after that which does not requires evaluation and currently i m on work permit in canada.

So, The issue is that i added both of these 2 credentials in 2 different rows & selected, and giving level of education as bachelor degree to one and one year program college in canada as another. I was wondering that if the system will consider only one of them and give 120 points or it will automatically consider it as "Two or more post-secondary program credentials AND at least one of these credentials was issued on completion of a post-secondary program of three years or longer" giving 128 points

Moreover,if it does not consider it as later ( 128 points) , how should i put my education credentials in one row i think to get the 128 points ??

please reply.

Guys whoever knows my case, please respond.

I have a 3.5 years diploma in Electronics & Comm Engg. after my secondary (10th) from India and then lateral entry in to 2nd year of B.Tech course admission so basically 3 years bachelor degree (though course is 4 year degree).

Will I be getting points for two degrees (B.Tech + Diploma) or only one (B.Tech) ?

Hey Guys,
please give advice.

I have 5 years Bachelor and 2 years Master diplomas from same University from home country. I am going to apply for WES and try to get some additional points for EE.
questions.
1. Do I need to do ECA for both diplomas (bachelor and master)?
2. will I get more points if I will do both or same points if I just will do ECA for master diploma?

Please clarify this situation for me.
Thank you in advance.

I also have same problem ( I am married)

I have a 4 years bachelor degree(India) and I have the ECA for this

I also have a 2 years Canadian diploma

so how much points should I get for my education? I have entered both and I got 112 points

I think I should get 119 as I have one degree and one diploma (equals to two or more degrees or diplomas or certificates)

If I am right which option should I select ( I guess I can't select " two or more degrees/diplomas for a single education)

please advice

Hi guys,

I had this confusion for a long time and I after some research and advice from senior people on this forum and friends who have already got through EE. I have added 2 levels of education. Keeping in mind to avoid any kind of misinterpretation(although CIC is the one who should be blamed for this)

First, I added my bachelors degree which came out to be equivalent to Canadian bachelors 4 years. For this credential i have added Bachelors Degree as the Level of education and this is what is written on my ECA report.

Second, I added my post secondary diploma which i did from Canada and it doesnt require ECA. So, i have added Level of education as one year post secondary diploma and highest level of education as 2 or more degrees/diplomas option and i see i have got full 128 points.

With this setup it seems i haven't misinterpreted anything and i am getting all the points i deserve. Just as a caution, when it comes to education points sometimes CIC takes a little longer to update. Lemme know what you guys think about it.
