None at all for me. My spouse’s PR application was submitted in February 2024. My son and I, as overseas dependants, completed our biometrics in September 2024. We received pre-arrival services in May 2025, and my spouse’s eligibility in Canada and the dependants’ eligibility were completed in June 2025
Hopefully, IRCC will start moving forward with overseas dependants’ applications soon. Please keep us updated if you receive any news.

Applied with spouse 2021. Spouse (protected person in Canada) became PR November 2025.
It's been a very long and lonely journey.
Hopefully, your PPR will arrive soon. Since your medical was updated on October 22 and Decision Made appeared on October 25, I hope the next step comes quickly. Please keep us updated when you receive your PPR. Wishing you a happy reunion with your spouse soon!

Congratulations . Plz did u received per-arrived before received PPR
In most cases, the pre-arrival services letter is issued after eligibility has been passed. However, the timing of medical, biometrics, and pre-arrival updates can vary depending on the application but background verification, including security screening, may still be in processing.

Congratulations on receiving your eCOPR!, The biometrics and medical requests will generally come through the relevant visa office in your country. Unfortunately, IRCC does not provide a separate, reliable processing timeline specifically for overseas dependants of Protected Persons, so it’s difficult to predict how long their applications will take. Hopefully, we’ll see some progress soon.

PR biometrics is different from tourist visa biometrics. My dependent has been waiting since 2024 but they received their biometrics and medical request May of 2026. Since your PR process took a bit shorter than majority of us 2024 and 2023 applicants you should still expect your dependents to be a little further back in the queue and might still take up to 40 months for their application to be processed. The one time initiative doesn't include overseas dependents and unfortunately there are a lot of people waiting in line. I hope your application is processed as soon as possible.

Yes, IRCC will ask another biometrics for PR. May I know which country your spouse is living?

I know that PR and TRV biometrics are different, so I thought they would use my old TRV biometrics for the one-way travel visa, and then retake my biometrics at the airport for PR. One of my friends provided their biometrics in their home country and still had to do it again at the airport.

They confirm your fingerprints at the airport, is a common practice in many airports and countries. I think is just verifying that you are who you said you are.

Its the other way around. When I was reapplying for my Canadian visitors visa, I didnt have do redo biometrics. The biometrics that was used, was one given for my PR application 2.5yrs ago, which was now for my TRV visa
