So my request to separate our files through the MP seems to have triggered something (hopefully!). After 15 months of complete silence, both my wife and I received a ghost update this morning!

Or this is like "anti-tiger spray" sold in Canada - I mean, it obviously works, no wild tigers here; even if some skeptics and wags claim it's unnecessary.

False alarm: Just hung up with IRCC and was told the update was actually a denial of our request to separate the files. As this option was suggested by IRCC themselves, it is indeed a joke now. Beyond frustrating.

What is your case? One person with everything completed except oath and another with BG and Prohibitions pending?

I think its beyond weird now - simply sad. My file is complete with prohibitions only pending while wife is stuck in background screening. IRCC confirmed via MP that my file is ready for oath but cannot be completed due to being part of a group and other member is incomplete and suggested we ask for separation.

Mine was like that, I requested the file separation in November 2025, and it was approved a few weeks later but they did not take any action until September 22, where they split it finally and marked my prohibitions as completed. Now I am waiting for the oath to be scheduled.

Wow, i got questions: 1) how did you know it was approved? 2) did you get any ghost update around November when you requested the split? 3) did it take them so long to proceed with your application if it was aproved? 4) was your other family member stuck in background?

So something is going on with my wife's tracker. There has been no update since june 9th 2025 as she was waiting for LPP ever since which hasn't started.

I see that it says todays date on last updated. It used to show june 9th 2025. There's no change in the application history.

2-3 weeks ago i added additional docs to show her language proficiency. Could that be the update?

A long journey indeed......
For the folks still waiting, be patient the time will come. Stressing over it won't change anything at all except for your health. It happens when it happens.
I understand everybody has plans and I personally do. I need to travel in mid November.

Fun part: I stopped worrying about it and waited until the last moments to apply for my passport from my county of birth and received it yesterday(A week over standard processing time). I spent almost $600+ to get that including all the documentation and fees because it(old passport) apparently had a stain(browning of paper, probably moisture related after 12 years) on a single page not obscuring any information at all and they charged me damaged fee. Now, I can't use that because dual citizenship is not allowed and I would surrender it after I get my Canadian passport.
Luckily I held back my PR Card application. Expiring in mid December, right in the middle of my trip.

Life is fun if you try to see it from a third person perspective (you watching yourself doing silly stuff acting, reacting, worrying, happy, sad and all other moments). It gets real interesting.

Anyway, people, relax and enjoy your day. Life happens regardless of what you make of it.

4. No, my wife's app was waiting for LPP only. And in the notes we say that all security checks were completed just 7 days after the AOR, March 13, 2025.
