Hi its my third time submitting the citizenship application.

Applied in Jan 2026 with a photo taken in oct 2026. The photo was less than 6 months old on the day of application submission. When the officer reviewed my file in april, the photo was more than 6 months old and the application was returned back. I had no way to question the decision as the requirement is that photo should be less than 6 months old at the time of submission not when they review the application.

I took a new photo and resubmitted in april 2026....the application was return in july with the reason that some fees missing, basically ircc increased the citizenship fees by $3.25 and they have no way to validate this at the time of app submission.

I paid the difference $ and resubmitted my application on July 15. this application has the same photo taken in apr 2026...i am not worried that when they process my file in oct, the phot will be older than 6 months. I submitted a latest photo via webform but i am not sure if it actually gets to the application.


Any pointers on what i can do? really tired of resubmitting and going back in the line.

I am not well versed with citizenship process, but while reading multiple forums, it seems common notion is - webform doesn't work before AOR. Probably fingers crossed for this situation.

I am sorry that you had to go through this process 3 times already. I think the staff at IRCC is likely new or not trained well enough. They asked me to resubmit physical presence calculator whereas I did submit it initially in the online application (had proof as well and submitted it via webforms). But I am still waiting for the AOR.

You can raise a webform and include your UCI. Per IRCC's website https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...ip-application-photograph-specifications.html, the photo shouldn't be more than 6 months old before you submit the application. So it means once you have submitted the application, it does not matter if photo becomes more than 6 months old after the application has been submitted. You should be good as long as the photo wasn't 6 months old before the submission.
