Timeline (Single Applicant):

Applied - May 31, 2023 (Online from Ontario)

AOR - Nov 11, 2023

Eligibility - Sep 13, 2024

1st Ghost Update (Application/Profile Updated on Gckey) - June 24, 2026 (my background status changed from not applicable to we are processing your background check…). New Info- My background check was apparently completed on this day.

2nd Ghost Update (Application/Profile Updated on Gckey) - July 23, 2026 (final decision was updated)
• July 23, 2026 Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

P1 - July 24, 2026

P2 - August 3, 2026

eCoPR - August 6, 2026

PR Card - Approved on Aug 28th, 2026, Mailed out on September 2nd (Info as seen on GCkey) and Received on Sep 4th.

No, I didn't do anything, but I'm sure it depends on the agents assigned to your case in my case of final decision to p1 was a month of delay and for P2 a week, but I have seen people in the process after receiving final decision to the pr card only one month, I think it's just patience and waiting

Do I need a direct airline to Italy with RTD? I booked with air france and have a lay over in paris but now, I am worried if I would be allowed to board without transit visa or EU visa

You cant fly air France, you need a Schengen visa to transit in France, Fly Lufthansa or Air Canada and transit in Germany or you can also fly Air Canada to Milan or ITA Airways to Rome. You cant pass through Paris without a Visa.

You're giving wrong assurance to him, he definitely needs a Visa to transit in Paris. He can only transit in Germany, or fly direct to Italy.

Ohh really?. Someone on this platform said that I cannot transit through paris to Italy with my RTD even though I have a PR card. He told me after I booked my flight already with no free cancelation option. I have been worried since yeaterday. Please were you able to another shenghen country with no issue? ( Germany excluded)

Save yourself the stress and apply for France visa, its very easy to get. or you fly direct to Italy, you can also go through germany

We are in Canada we should protest I am tired of waiting it's 3 years since I applied and 5 since arrival
5 years I should have been a Canadian citizen !

This situation might be valid until the asylum is granted but that decision has been made. The rest is about the swift implementation of administrative procedures. Therefore, I disagree. PR applications should be processed quickly.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with expressing her frustration. We came to this country hoping to have at least the freedom of speech and to be able to express our concerns and wishes without fear. What she said is completely reasonable.


If the process were simply taking a long time for everyone and everyone were facing the same situation, or if there were an issue with her application, then I would agree with you. But when you see someone who applied in October 2025 getting PR now, before people who applied in 2023, it doesn’t feel fair.


We’re all under pressure. I think it’s better if we try to understand each other a little more.

Applied with following timeline( me + spouse and dependents inside Canada):

• Applied for PR : June 26, 2023
• Pre Arrival : December 21 , 2024
• Eligibility letter : December 17, 2024
• Medical : Completed (expired)
• Biometric request: July,06 2026
• Biometric Submitted : July,08 2026
• Info Sharing : changed to completed end of July 2026 for me and my spouse
• Criminality : completed on July 2026
• Security : completed for my wife in 3 days during August.
• My security was sent to comprehensive background check CBSA on Aug 17 2026

It is really frustrating and I’m really stressed out. I don’t have any military service and they didn’t ask for any additional forms. Me and my wife from the same country.

What I should do?
