Soooooo how are we supposed to fit anything in the boxes on this form???

Schedule A, we get between 17 and 24 characters for all the fields where we're supposed to type the longest text?
And then... "Complete ALL names in English and in your native language (for example, Arabic Cyrillic, Chinese, Chinese commercial/telegraphic code, Korean or Japanese characters)."

How are we supposed to fit all that info into a 17 character box? What order do they want that in? English name then native language name? Vice versa?

The only help they provide for this page is "Education If you didn’t earn a diploma, leave the “Type of certificate or diploma issued” field blank."

This is one of the worst forms I've ever had to fill in my entire life.


Also: "You (the principal applicant) must fill out this form for yourself and on behalf of any of your family members 18 years of age or older (who are not already Canadian citizens or permanent residents)."

Do we have to fill in all the education for family members who are NOT immigrating to Canada too?

You can use additional sheets and attach it.

For clarification for others (I'm sure you know but the confusion comes up): in this context, 'family members' means IMMEDIATE family members of the adult principal applicant - spouse, dependents (i.e. children but only those 18 years of age or older), etc. NOT parents, grandparents, siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, etc. (Siblings are not considered immediate family members of independent adults in this context)

Also, NOT necessary for a spouse-sponsor in spousal sponsorship cases - because by construction of that program, the sponsor is already a citizen or PR.

Yes, IRCC is not always consistent in referring to 'familiy members.' Anyone who doubts my interpretation can look at the first field in the form, indicate whether you (the object of the form) is the principal applicant or 'spouse, common-law partner or dependent child aged 18 years or older of the principal applicant.'

And as you correctly note, includes those who are not intending to immigrate.

Personally I would also recommend including a short note (letter of explanation) about immediate family members for whom no 5669 is being submitted: primarily dependent children UNDER 18 (as at the time of application) and adult children not eligible (those over 22 years of age and/or already married, who are deemed no longer dependents). Just short sentence for each stating eg 'not submitting for CHILD NAME, DOB because under 18 years of age / not considered a dependent because [age/marital status]')

This letter not strictly necessary but clerks/officers doing intake of applications sometimes make mistakes.
