Ineligible under bill c-12 one year rule, submitted PRRA on 27–august-2026
Today when checked no Ontario works payment.
Was assistance up to 1 year? Anybody else same boat?

So you have no status. OW has stopped payments for many.

What is your immigration history in Canada? Do you not have a work permit that you applied for with your asylum claim and why weren’t you working since I assume you likely had a work or study permit before applying for asylum. Has IRCC been cancelling work permit for those found to be ineligible for asylum based on bill c-12?

Have you been receiving and it just stopped because new rules started last week. You were a visitor so no longer eligible if asylum claim was refused.

Yes it stopped and asylum was ineligible, but PRRA is active .

So you wait for PPRA approval. Contact OW and find out if eligible under new rules. If stopped then you may not be.

So you are in Canada without status but with a PPRA application in process. Had you not filed for a WP with the initial asylum claim? How long were you a visitor in Canada before claiming asylum? Most are not longterm visitors when deemed ineligible under bill c-12.
