PA Passport scan and E-Gates

We have a question as we're putting the final touch to our spousal sponsorship outland application, the checklist says to include in the passport scan the pages with the stamps from travelling to Canada, only problem is my wife is from UK, when she visits me she has an ETA so she used e-gates or how ever they're called here, which means she has no stamps in her passport. Is it safe to just put the passport page with informations or we also need to provide a letter of explanation on why there's no stamps?

Yes. Quite common case. If you have any supplementary proof of travel/arrival (boarding passes, ticket receipts, whatever), that will substitute fine.

It is possible to get entry/exit records from CBSA - but I think that would be total overkill and not necessary at all unless the rest of the file is incredibly weak.

I recall reading that CBSA deems an entry into another country (i.e. passenger's name on a flight manifest that departed from Canada) as their exit record.

Accuracy is a different matter. For my spouse they were accurate with only one missing exit. No land border entries or exits however.

I don't have information on what individual border agents are able to see. I had thought that they could, with very little difficulty.

We also have to allow for the fact that sometimes these one-off interactions end up with incorrect information - for whatever reason.

For those departing by air, my understanding is that yes, the exit info is mostly based on the carrier's passenger manifests provided to Transport Canada. (Which I think is more or less what you said?)
