AOR: still waiting

I received an email today from IRCC stating that my application was missing some information and asking me to log in to my account to check the details. When I logged in, I was asked to provide my physical presence in Canada between May 9 2026 and August 12 2026.
My family and I had travelled to the U.S. during this period, so I updated the absence details accordingly and resubmitted our applications.
Has anyone else received a similar email or encountered this situation?

I submitted my application a day after you, on May 10, and got AOR yesterday. Also travelled to the US after applying, and will travel to the US again next week. So far haven't got such letter. It's kinda weird as I think the physical presence only look at the 5 calendar years before submission and nothing afterwards, as long as you remain a valid PR status and can appear in Canada for oath.

But I don't believe your case will affect the application in any way though. Just report your trip and it should be fine.

Strange that IRCC asked for this. Why would they ask for details after submission date

I have read on some forums that some Canadian citizenship applications are being returned because the submitted photos do not meet IRCC’s photo specifications.

I had my citizenship photo taken professionally at Shoppers Drug Mart and received the digital copy from them. Since Shoppers provides professional photography services, I was wondering why photo-specification issues can still occur.

I am a May 2026 applicant and I am still waiting for my AOR, so I am a little concerned about whether my photo could cause my application to be returned.

Has anyone who used Shoppers Drug Mart for their citizenship photo experienced any issues with their application or photo?

you are worrying about something that hasn't happened to you, that will most likely not happen to you, and that you don't have control over even if it does end up happening to you.

just relax. everything will be fine.

i don't think enrolment letter from your university qualifies as a language proof as it doesn't show that you've completed such program in good standing.

as per IRCC official guide, the following are acceptable:
  • diploma
  • transcript
  • certificate
Thanks for reply. I understand your point, but IRCC’s wording says “attended or are currently attending,” not necessarily completed in good standing. My university letter confirms my enrolment and states that courses are taught and assessed in English, so I resubmitted it with that sentence highlighted. However, if this document is returned again, I may ask my university to issue an official transcript.

Just a heads up - if IRCC flags something as missing, don't just resubmit the same doc under a different category, that usually doesn't work. Better to check in here first or find someone who's dealt with the same issue before responding to them. No need to rush a reply. Wishing you all the best with it.
Thank you for your input. I had already resubmitted it with that sentence highlighted before I received your suggestion. However, if this document is returned again, I may request an official transcript from my university.

I received an email from IRCC indicating that my application was missing information and asking me to log in to my account to check the details.

For the language proof, my initial submission was an enrolment letter from my university, and the document type I selected was "Letter from Institution".

I resubmitted the same document, but this time I highlighted the sentence “Courses at the University of Toronto are taught and assessed in the English language” and changed the document type to “Post-secondary education in English.”

In my case, does this mean my AOR timeline restarts from the resubmission date, and I may have to wait another three months?
Unfortunately, it will restart. I submitted in March, they didn’t accept my photo for whatever reason, and I resubmitted on May 28…

Update:

Aug 12 AOR, was able to access tracker today on Aug 14, after 9 am. Everything shown as in progress now.

From majority reports i saw online, most people should be able to access tracker 2 days after AOR, regardless if you received a tracker invitation email or not.
