No way to expedite and current processing is more than 10 years. Fortunately she is with you in Canada so you can support her.

The big issue is that she may run out of status and the cost of healthcare to support someone with dementia can be extremely high. Hospitals can’t afford to provide healthcare to people without status or health insurance if doesn’t cover preexisting conditions. Even if the mother is eventually able to get PR is the family able to afford the 2k+/month if the mother needs longterm care or can they pay out of pocket for care at home since most households can’t operate on a single income. There should have been a care plan in their home country given parent sponsorship is not guaranteed. This is not an uncommon situation so people need to have a care plan for their parents in their home countries. Most provinces have hospitals running deficits so it will be much harder to arrange payment plans at hospitals and the wait lists for longterm care is already years in many places so Canada can’t afford to add more seniors. We will see what happens with PGP and supervisas. There are many who are under the false impression that a supervisa means a permanent move to Canada and the H&C program is overwhelmed and the quotas are so low that it has become much harder to get approved for H&C. Based on the JRs the H&C program is trying to be much more strict in terms of who gets AIP. PR may take years after AIP.

H&C,
i applied my mother H&C in April 2025, she is dementia patient, she is dependent on me, No one back home to take care of her. she is single. is there any way to make the process fast or anything i check with ircc or MP letter that can make difference. Its almost, 16 months in process. can anyone can guide.
Unfortunately you still have a wait time of over ten years at this point. There is no expedite process. However your mother can remain in Canada until there is a decision in the application.

You can certainly try but in general no. Given parent sponsorship was never guaranteed you must have had a plan for longterm care in her home country. Does she have status in Canada and if on a supervisa has she been able to secure supervisa insurance given her diagnosis is although anything related to dementia would not be covered? The cost of care may also lead to an H&C denial. You need to also be researching care in her home country whether in home care or a nursing home. You also need to assess your ability to pay for any healthcare costs that may arise if she does remain in Canada as a visitor or without status. The cost of something like in home care or residential care would be cost prohibitive for most people. Even if she is somehow able to get PR you will be responsible for 2k+/month if she ends up in a nursing home because there is a bed fee that is typically covered by Canadian pensions and she would not have the income to divert to the bed fee.
she can not travel. she is on visit visa.

That does happen. But to the best of my knowledge that has been for extreme cases of spousal abuse or best interest of child, usually related to a very serious illness. I have not seen any cases expedited related to parents.
