I am considering applying for a PR. I understand the 730 day requirement but I want to understand better how that is calculated? Is it 24 hour periods that is counted? For example, my mother lives in the US, just a mile from the border. If we need to do an overnight in the US with her does that deduct from the potential time for the 730 day count, even if we were in Canada most of the day?? Or if we are traveling back and forth to visit her with that deduct? Is it 24 hour periods that is counted, overnights, or something else?

Congrats. When were you invited for PR? Each full or partial day counts. Assume you are US citizen to go between countries freely.
I am just beginning the process and want to understand all obligations before I complete the application.
