Hello Everyone,
I was brought to the United States when I was 12 with my parents in 2018 and they applied for asylum in 2019. We had an interview in 2021 that was later referred to court and was due to happen in 2027. Around 3 months ago, my father was detained by ICE and was told that they wanted to expedite his case leading to our cases being separated and my mother having another case open separately adding me as a derivative. My father's case was later denied and now awaiting removal to Lebanon, though, we will exhaust one last appeal. I am about to graduate and my intentions were to complete a masters degree here in the US while all of this was going on but due to these circumstances, I am afraid I won't be able to. My mother and sister are planning to self-deport and take a clean exit to close the asylum case by the end of the year which wouldn't allow me to stay and complete my studies.
Now I am trying to figure out if it is plausible to apply for study visa and finish my master's in Canada and try to gain some experience that isn't available in my country. My intent to just finish my studies and depart as I am not trying to get stuck again just like the way my parents were.
It's a really frustrating situation and I am afraid this will affect my future forever.
