American wife coming to canada. Any similar experiences? ie, average wait/processing times?

My wife and I just got married and we’re going to be getting the process to having her start her outland sponsorship. Has anyone been in this situation that knows the average wait times for American citizens? She is 27 years old no criminal background. Is there any other ways to get her to be able to legally live with me faster such as an open work permit? She currently has a job in the US across the border that she would like to keep going to every day so staying in Canada without crossing the border is not an option

Does she want to live in Canada and commute to her job in the US daily? Does her employer have offices, clients or customers in Canada?
