Hello any news? Timeline?

Have you looked at your estimated processing time? Processing times are now up to decades which is not a functional program so I would expect significant reforms to the program once bill c-12 passes. There is a very good chance the program will be culled and restarted with much more strict guidelines about who can apply. The government is also removing many people who have applied for H&C unless a response is imminent which rarely happened a year 1+ ago.

Hello, yes, I contacted my MP. After she inquired about my application, she informed me that my file was approved in July 2025; however, IRCC has not yet issued the RFV. They asked me to contact them again in spring 2026 if no updates. My main concern is that they also mentioned my COPR expires in May 2026, so the timeline feels quite tight.

An officer manually triggers the RFV/PPR letter, so that's where the hold is. You can expect a minimum of 3 months validity (I've not seen validity less than that commonly).

It is very important to specify that you are part of the Americas H&C program. Most posting are part of the general H&C program which is why your situation and timeline didn’t make sense.

That's true, I forgot to specify I applied under the humanitarian pathway for Colombians, Haitians and Venezuelans. Thanks.

Hello everyone, how do I check the H&C application status? I see people here call a number but they don't mention where to find it.

First zero guarantees he will get approved and could take years to get processed. You need to be making other plans to either seek care in home country or pay for care if available in Canada as a foreign national and if you have the funds.
AIP issued on April 8, 2026. AOR July 12, 2025. File was expedited by local MP’s request. Waiting for COPR.

He would still have to pass the medical due to excessive costs and going from AIP to COPR could still be years but yes you got lucky to have been fast tracked.

Hello Experts
I have a question about my mother-in-law. She is 72 years old. My father-in-law recently passed away & she is currently back in her home country. She is planning to travel to Canada in the next 2 or 3 weeks on her valid visitor visa, which is valid until 2029. After her husband’s death she is living alone has health issues and although she has brothers but none of them are willing to take responsibility for her care. There is no one in her home country who can properly look after her....Could you please advise what her chances are in this situation and which immigration pathway would be most suitable for her to eventually obtain permanent residence in Canada? Specifically what are the chances of approval under Humanitarian and Compassionate (H&C) grounds in a case like this? If the H&C application is refused, what other options would she have?
Also, could you please guide what essential documents would be required to prepare a strong application?
Your guidance would be very important in this difficult situation and could genuinely help improve someone’s quality of life.

If she is unwell, she won't even pass her medical exam via normal immigration route. You need to plan care for her in her home country.

Does she have good medical health insurance for her travel? She will not qualify to use any provincial healthcare if she is aa visitor.
And H&C wait is over 10 years and many cases are not being processed for years. (even if they are legit H&C cases) How will she stay without medical coverage for year while waiting for her case to be processed (even if that has any chance of approval).
Her case is just trying to by-pass the PGP sponsorship when it's being put on hold. I do not see that as H&C.
