HOW LONG IT USUALLY TAKING NOWADAYS FOR BACKGROUND CHECK?

In general, using all caps, especially in bold red fonts, is perceived as yelling! Or perhaps you're not aware, but that's not needed here. Most of the people here are pretty kind and helpful.

Anyway, to your bold red query, there is no set pattern for the progression of any stage of the application. Especially BG. Everyone's application is unique, and it's processed based on the individual's application content, which is always different. For BG, IRCC needs to obtain/get clearance from RCMP/CSIS/CSBA. Sometimes, clearance is received, but IRCC agent working on the file doesn't update until the application is resumed for processing to the next step in line. Or sometimes it's pending clearance from said authorities.

I have also noticed that many applicants (but not everyone) get their BG completed (in tracker) just a few days to 1 week after getting AoR email. One theory is that if the applicant travelled outside Canada to a non five-eye country anytime after file submission and before AoR, then BG can take some time because this travel history is not recorded in the application. But that's just one theory; there can be many other factors, which I think we really don't need to know or worry about.

on FB, I've seen some applications (timeline from tracker sreenshot) go from [AoR ---> BGC ---> CitizenTest ---> BG inprogress ---> Interview ---> BGC ---> LPP].

Anyhow, most citizenship applications are PR applicants, and so if PR was approved back in the day, so will the citizenship given if there are no mishaps that delay the application any further, just that they check activity for time between the PR and Citizenship application submission. And the way I see it, is that all November 2025 applicants are still within the normal processing time. If the file processing goes beyond that timeline (over 11 ~ 12 months), then it's considered out of normal processing, and one may request for GCMS or request local MP for inquiring status.

Just thought I'd share my timeline so far :)

No timeframe/ETA for any steps in the application processing. Citizenship grants falls under the federal law of IRCC, so it doesn't matter whether the applicant is from Alberta or other provinces. Just the federal processing offices differ. But given your BG and citizenship test are marked completed in the tracker, the only pending item being LPP, in most of cases like yours, a couple of ghost updates and LPP is done. So if you see some ghost updates (like the date change/update on the upper right side of the tracker), you can expect some updates, probably on LPP. So maybe couple of weeks from now is my wild guess.

I think the most important step in citizenship application is BG, or FP+BG, followed by a citizenship test. LPP is already reviewed before AoR or at the time of AoR.. Say if physical presence or language is not met, the applications in such cases are returned near AoR date. However, LPP is once again reviewed (maybe by a senior officer) during file processing before being marked as completed in the tracker.

At this point, i think I have seen all or most sorts of processing steps and can conclude that there is no specific pattern to how IRCC processes the applications. It keeps changing from time to time. Like if you see citizenship applications from 2023 vs 2024 vs 2025, you will find trend of cases (for some quarters) where LP is processed before citizensiptest, followed BG and then Prohibition before Oath. Also some applications are super unique, where everything is completed except for oath and just before oath, a request for an interview happens, and for some reason, that happens for Quebec applications (IDKY) or someone who's travel history is very minimal to none (like U.S. applicants who never travel outside the country).

which location? LPP + oath depends heavily on location. As per the trend, Toronto + Toronto GTA folks have seen faster turnaround as compared to Western Canada.

Do you know what the average time for LPP to be completed is for western Canada applicants?

I have seen folks reporting anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months, especially from Edmonton and Vancouver. This is based on the info from other forum that i am following.

Team 3 turnaround is fast. My testing team was Team 3 as well. If citizenship test is updated in one day, good likelihood you might see LPP getting updated by next week. All the best!

The GTA is where I'm located
you might see something soon. Based on the current trend, if you are in Toronto or GTA, testing team is team 3, then depending on which office your file is pending with (Scarborough/Mississauga/Etobicoke), turnaround time is quick - between 7 and 21 days. In most of the forums it is mentioned that Scarborough is not just the largest, but also the fastest and most efficient IRCC office in all of Canada.
