When I said which agency, I meant whether you submitted the request to IRCC or to CBSA.

At any rate, the important part wwas whether or not it says anywhere if any info was exempted (that is, not disclosed to you) from the gcms notes. (There usually is, as far as I am aware, but definitely security related stuff)

My PR card expires in August - not sure how much longer i should hold out hope of this arriving before potentially causing my file to go through another review cycle becuse i have to get a new card.

that information was. on the email here it is, this what came last Dec:

"The processing of your request is now complete and enclosed is the personal information to which you are entitled to under section 12(1) of the Privacy Act, which only permits you to access information about yourself. Please refer to the following for an explanation as to what was released:

Disposition of your records: Disclosed in part

Section(s) of the Act applied (if applicable): 21 The detection, prevention or suppression of subversive or hostile activities, 26 information about another individual

You received the following amount of pages (if applicable): 29"

Sorry if I missed that.

So yep: S.21 - that part is exempt from disclosure to you, and that's the part that would be holding it up.

Obviously I can't say for certain that means it will be held up - but interpreting the lack of specific info to mean it's not held up is, well, ignoring the dog that didn't bark.

I just submitted my PR card renewal application, the current processing time says 27 days, lets see how long they take. I have a travel coming up in July and my PR card is expiring in July, with no clue how long the citizenship application is going to take, I guess this is my best option as on date....

FWIW my spouse just renewed and it was about 40-45 days (delivered), probably was a bit less than 30 days for the approval. Old card expires later in the year but since lots of travel, we decided to apply well in advance. All very smooth, but one warning, the 'tracker' for the PR card renewal did not update at all even after it was received, the card just showed up in post. (So the tracker useless for our purposes)
