That is also true. The IRB has had a large backlog of refugee claims in recent years. Even after security checks are complete, your file still needs to be scheduled for a hearing. Assigned to a Board Member and into the hearing calendar. Hoping you are not far away. Good Luck.

Waiting can be stressful, especially when you don’t know the date yet, your file must be ready for scheduling, I may suggest you talk to your lawyer or legal representative.
On 2 March irb send this letter
We received your request to schedule a hearing. When the claim is ready to be heard, you and your
client will receive a notice to appear by mail, which will include the time, date and location of the
hearing.
The Refugee Protection Division (RPD) generally schedules hearings in the order in which the
claims are referred, but also balances this approach with the prioritization of certain claims.
Any update

You are still waiting in the queue, and you must wait until they send you the hearing notice by mail. If there are long delays, you may contact your lawyer so they can follow up with the Refugee Protection Division by sending additional letters again or inquiries about your case.
