We are trying to find out how to get documents translated in a way that Canadian immigration would accept them. There are a mix of documents in Chinese and Korean.

There is no governing agency for certified translators in Korea. So, it seems the "certified translator" route is not open to us.

For an affidavit, this also does not seem to be avalible. Korea recognizes international affadavits, but doesn't use them domestically, so we can't find a local law office that issues them.

Anyone had any experiences with this? Should we just translate ourselves and hope they'll be accepted?

You can check with the embassy (i'd suggest consular section) what they require/use for 'official' translations - that should be enough.

But these days it may be easier to get translations done through a Canadian-based translator online.
