Hello! I'm planning on doing two graduate programs in these coming years and having them stack for PGWP. My current plan is to do a 3 term (fall - winter - summer which is coop, 2026-2027) at Humber and then a 2 term one at Sheridan (fall - winter, 2027-2028). Both Sheridan and Humber are eligible DLIs, the programs themselves are eligible for PGWP and they both fall under the correct fields of study (STEM-related). My questions are:
- Does stacking programs at two different DLIs cause any type of complication for getting a PGWP after I'm done? I've been told you can only program stack within the same DLI but I haven't found that information sourced anywhere (including the Canadian gov website) and I have my doubts.
- What about a study permit? I know I'll have to apply for an extension (and basically a new permit) if I'm going to a new DLI after my first program, can that cause issues?
- To my knowledge both programs are at least one academic year from september to april (12 months real time for Humber's 3 terms and 8 for Sheridan's 2 terms, totaling 20 months), with Humber having an extra term ending in august for coop. Would that grant me a PGWP of 3 years?
