Ghost update + gckey We are reviewing eligibility requirements tracker shows not started.

Hi everyone!

I received a ghost update today, and I noticed that the “Review of eligibility” section now says, “We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.” However, in the tracker, it shows “not started.” The reason I’m asking is because yesterday, my gckey said “Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start reviewing your eligibility.” and i didnt get any message today.

I understand that it might be a silly question because it explicitly states that they are reviewing, but I would appreciate it if someone with experience could clarify if this is the typical process for that part of the application.

That is totally normal. Do not need to worry or think too much about it. Just allow some time for both GCKey and tracker to be on the same page... but sometimes things on GCKey may never change even after your application is done and dusted so yeah... all good.

For example, the eligibility on my tracker has long been marked to 'completed' but over on my GCKey it still says 'we are reviewing...'
I have had successful applications in the past where some of the sections on GCKey never update haha so no need to worry about anything - at best just allow a few days/weeks for both to reflect same updates, or, for them to send you a proper message/update, as ghost updates suggest that an update is on its way in the following days.

I’m anxious because I applied for Outland six months ago and haven’t received any pre-arrival letters. My eligibility wasn't started till today , and the background check is still in progress. Thank you!

Eligibility starting and the ghost update is a good sign, your application is picking up some momentum it seems. Pre-arrival letters ideally arrive right about when eligibility finishes completion, atleast that's what happened with me, so hang in there! Good luck!
