Dec 8th: LPP status updated
Dec 9th : received an update from my MP that everything passed, awaiting finalization
Dec 11th: my tracker got updated ( Oath (in-person) invitation arrived for Jan 6th)

Some members reported that ceremony officials will tell you that you can use your citizenship certificate a couple of business days after you receive it, for the purpose of applying to a passport. You may still try to do so on the same day but dont be surprised if passport office tells you that you need to wait.

Language and physical presence completed for me on Dec 10 (updated today).
BG and prohibitions pending.

LPP completed for my wife (everything is completed now except the ceremony).

I took my oath today. Finally, a Canadian Citizen!!! Thanks to Canadavisa forum, which played a very integral part in my journey and many others who helped me out to reach here ...

On mine they said the same. Claimed we wouldn’t be on record yet and to wait for 2 business days.

Finally My days on this forum are about to end. Today I completed my Oath.. It went smooth. My PR card is cut and I sent the oath form and got a receipt of acknowledgement Waiting for the certificate now. Overall it took less than 6 months from AOR and 7 Months from application.

I got the invitation to apply for the passport via the Citizenship to passport pilot program and since i don't need to travel anytime soon submitted my docs via that option.

Its been a great journey from my 2021 when i landed on WP, got PR and now Citizenship. I cannot thank the lord and my Parents blessing enough.

Applicants should wait at least two business days after the ceremony before applying so there’s time for the new citizenship status to be confirmed in government systems. They told us at the ceremony.

Acknowledgement from the Oath office yes probably few mins.... The Vancouver office confirmed they received the Oath Form. It was automated but there was confirmation.

My in-person oath was completed on 16th Dec. Roughly about 7 months from submission to oath. Not bad. Good luck everyone.

Ghost update November 20, 2025 with no update. Called IRCC they have not inputed the finger print details in the system, asked that I keep waiting.

I dont know this seem so long, lots of May and June people I see getting Oath.

Tracker updated and says "Interview required" with a date of December 18th.

Is this normal for ceremony notification or is an interview part of the application process?

"Interview required
You've been scheduled to attend an interview with our official on December 18, 2025. Information and instructions will be sent to you"

Family of 4.

Interview completed on December 18th. It was just a document verification for all applicants in our application. Took less than 10 minutes. Told all steps are now passed and next email will be for ceremony date.

My Passport application.....CIT To PPT

I applied via CIT to PPT on 5th Dec.. My oath was on 9th... On 12th i received a mail.. saying that my passport won't be ready for 19th Jan... which is the date i filled on my travel...

I have no rush for now so sent it again but the application tracking won't be available till 15th Jan...

So my experience was not so good....I recommend to apply directly if you have time..

Wait I don't get it. So they cancelled your passport application through the new pilot because they cannot issue the passport on time and you applied again under the same pilot program or applied in person at Passport offices? Regular passport application also takes 20 business days, right? and it's holiday season now so would be 30 business days I guess

They asked me to withdraw or send a new application with the date marked unknown. I send the application again via the program.
