PRTD stuck at IRCC Delhi – No update since Nov 18 (VFS Hyderabad). Need real timelines.

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for real timelines from people who submitted an urgent PRTD to IRCC Delhi via VFS Hyderabad.

Here is my exact timeline:

• Nov 10: VFS appointment booked
• Nov 12: Received passport submission email
• Nov 14: Passport submitted at VFS Hyderabad
• Nov 15: Passport reached IRCC Delhi
• Nov 18: VFS updated to “Under process at IRCC Office”
• Nov 21: IRCC webform reply: “Agent took appropriate actions on Nov 21”
• Nov 28 (Friday): No further update, no dispatch
• Nov 29 (Saturday): Weekend, no processing
• Current: Status unchanged since Nov 18
• Flight: Originally Nov 30 (now needs to be rescheduled)

My sister cannot travel without the PRTD because her new PR card was mailed to her Canadian address, making her physical PR card in India invalid.

I would really appreciate if anyone can share how many days it took (start to finish) for:

• IRCC Delhi to dispatch the passport
• Actual courier delivery to Hyderabad

Looking only for real, recent timelines from people who went through the same process.

IRCC Delhi batches most passport processing. So, you are easily expected to wait for 2-3 weeks. Her PRTD is by no means stuck anywhere, that hyperbolic lingo should be discouraged here. It should come through pretty soon. Your sister could've had her PR card(that was delivered to her Canadian residence) mailed out to her through overnight UPS/FedEX services that would take ~2-3 days max to reach her.

PRTD in general takes min of 4-5 weeks. They usually don't take the "urgent" as urgent either. I'd assume as soon as the PR card arrives, that'll be easier to get it sent back via an overnight courier. The issue is with Canada Post's notorious wrong deliveries.
